This week we’re celebrating all the amazing dads, grandads, stepdads and father figures with a week full of special Father’s Day themed activities and sessions!

👣🎨 Father’s Day Hand & Footprint Cards – create a special keepsake to treasure forever.

✨💛 My First Father’s Day Sensory & Keepsake Session – perfect for making memories and marking a very special milestone.

🎶🪩 Breakfast Baps & Beats: Father’s Day Weekend Special – think 10/10 sausage baps followed by upbeat, techno nursery rhymes and dance classics in a fun-filled Father’s Day celebration.

Plus, all of our regular courses, including Baby Massage, Sensory & Stretch and Movers & Cruisers, will be running as usual with a special My Hero Father’s Day theme throughout the week. 🦸🏼‍♂️💙

💙 SEND PLAY SESSION LAUNCHING THIS SUNDAY 💙

Hi everyone!

I’m really excited to share that this Sunday at The Playgroup Hub we are launching our very first SEND Play Session, from 12:00pm–1:30pm.

As a parent of an autistic child myself, I’ve experienced first-hand how overwhelming many play spaces and soft plays can be for children with additional needs. They can often feel busy, noisy and unpredictable, meaning parents spend much of their visit managing sensory challenges and safety concerns rather than enjoying quality time together.

With that in mind, we have created a session designed to feel calmer, more understanding and more inclusive.

At The Playgroup Hub, children will be free to explore at their own pace in our welcoming play space, without loud music, flashing lights or overwhelming sensory input. Parents and carers can relax with a cuppa, connect with other families, and spend time in an environment where everyone understands that every child is different.

💙 No expectations
💙 No judgement

Whether your child has a diagnosis, is awaiting assessment, or simply finds traditional play environments challenging, you are very welcome.

We’ve got two lovely sessions planned for this Sunday, and we’d love to see you there!

🩰 Tip Toe Club | 10:00am – 11:30am
For confident walkers up to school age.

A fun movement and dance session with gentle ballet-inspired themes, helping little ones build confidence, coordination and creativity. All genders are welcome!

🌈 NEW SEND Play Session | 12:00pm – 1:30pm

We’re excited to launch our very first SEND-friendly play session. Suitable for children of all ages, this relaxed and welcoming session offers 1.5 hours of free play in a calmer environment, with no structured activities and plenty of time to explore at your own pace.

Designed for families who may benefit from a quieter, more understanding space, we’ll do our best to accommodate individual needs wherever possible.

☕ Café open as usual throughout both sessions.

⚠️ A Little Honest Chat From Us ⚠️

As many of you will have seen, we’ve recently changed our afternoon Café & Play sessions from our usual £7 entry fee (Stay & Play) to a FREE session with just a £5 minimum spend per child in the café.

We made this change because we know how expensive life feels right now, especially with the summer holidays approaching and warmer weather. We wanted to make visiting The Playgroup Hub more affordable for families while still welcoming lots of lovely new faces into our space. 💛

The response overall has been amazing, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported the change. Seeing the space busy, full of laughter and families making memories has been exactly what we hoped for, even in the warmer days.

However, today we experienced a significant number of no shows.

Whilst the session may be free to attend, your booking still plays a really important role for us. We use booking numbers to:

✨ Plan staffing levels
✨ Prepare the play space
✨ Manage capacity
✨ Ensure everyone has a great experience

Today, we were almost at full capacity based on bookings, so we staffed accordingly. Unfortunately, many of those booked didn’t attend or let us know they couldn’t make it, leaving us covering staffing and overhead costs for spaces that sat empty.

We’re simply asking one thing:

👉 If you’ve booked and can no longer come, please let us know.

In many cases, we can offer your space to another family who would love to visit!

We really want to keep these sessions as accessible and affordable as possible, but if no-shows continue at this level, we may need to introduce a £5 booking deposit that would then be deducted from your café bill when you attend - in hope to keep our offer sustainable this month.

We’d much rather not do that!

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our little business. These Café & Play sessions are something we’re proud to offer, and with your help we’d love to keep them that way. 💛
