Showing some love to the brilliant Gerry and Sewell cast as they bring their incredible talent to the stage at Newcastle Theatre Royal 👏🏻

We were so proud to see Gerry and Sewell perform in the show back in February, and it was a joy to watch them share their talent, passion, and creativity with audiences.

Last night’s show was absolutely amazing, and it was wonderful to have some brilliant supporters there celebrating with us, Phillipa Wilson, Gavin Webster and Sam Wonfor. 🧡

A true celebration of North East storytelling, Gerry & Sewell follows two Gateshead lads on a mission to get their hands on Newcastle United season tickets, a funny, heartfelt and proudly Geordie story about friendship, dreams and never giving up!

We also want to give a special shoutout to the brilliant SFS cast members involved in this version of the show - Sammy T Dobson, Davey Nellist and Angela Lonsdale. Their talent and creativity help make this production so special, and we love seeing North East performers continuing to shine on stage 🧡

The North East was absolutely buzzing, from the incredible BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Sunderland to Stone’s Throw Festival in North Shields celebrating upcoming North East artists, it was a huge weekend for music across the region!

This weekend they’re performing at A Stone’s Throw Festival in North Shields and BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland… thankfully they’re only down the road from each other 🤣👏

We absolutely love seeing our grantees getting opportunities like this and flying the flag for North East music.

We’ll also have a Sunday for Sammy merch stand at Salt Market Social during A Stone’s Throw Festival, with sales helping us continue to support emerging North East talent through grants and opportunities 🧡

Brendan was a huge part of Sunday for Sammy for many years, a regular supporter, performer and great friend to the show whose talent, humour and warmth meant so much to audiences across the North East.

We’re proud to announce that Sunday for Sammy is supporting A Stone's Throw Festival 2026 with a grant 🧡

Taking place in North Shields on Saturday 23rd May, A Stone’s Throw is a full-day, multi-venue celebration of new music, bringing together emerging and established artists across independent venues and community spaces.

This is exactly the kind of grassroots creativity we love to back. A festival built on community, live music, local venues and giving audiences the chance to discover brilliant new talent.

With artists including LUVCAT, Working Men’s Club, CHALK, Panic Shack and many more, it’s set to be a huge day for North East music.

Your ticket gives access to all participating venues, with festival buses running between spaces throughout the day.
