THE GLOBE GALLERY www.globegallery.org. Bringing contemporary art to the North East for over 29 years. The organisation embraces change but is also proud of its continuity.

For the past 26 years Globe Gallery has been at the forefront of independent contemporary art, always challenging, never excluding. We blend high standards of artistic presentation, an integrated volunteering programme and a firm commitment to the development of emerging and established artists to produce powerful experiences for all participants. The organisation has a strong history of great exh

ibitions, artist and audience development, with community participation at its core. For our volunteers and interns, working with contemporary art and artists has helped people from a diverse range of backgrounds gain confidence, improve skills and increase employability, and most importantly enjoy themselves. From gallery spaces to school corridors, our model is one of maximum creative use of minimum resources to ensure maximum resilience. Our diversity of audience and income streams creates a genuinely twenty-first century grassroots approach to contemporary arts delivery, providing excellent value for artists, audiences, participants, funders, partners, sponsors and supporters.

Step into Mourning Tea Tyne & Lost Frequencies at Globe Gallery, an installation exploring the imagined home of someone who’s gone, built from domestic objects, old photographs and household oddities. Then step back through the gift shop into Odd Ours next door for some proper vintage rummaging. Two very different kinds of time travel, one visit, Howard Street.
