What an incredible community effort! Thanks to everyone who gave up their time to help care for our coastline, we collected an amazing 31.45kg of litter from the beach.

Every bottle, wrapper and piece of plastic removed is one less item that could end up in our seas or harm local wildlife. Your time, enthusiasm and support have made a real difference, and we couldn't have done it without you.

Meet the Clownfish!

Made famous by the movies, Clownfish are just as fascinating in real life. They have an incredible partnership with sea anemones, living safely among their stinging tentacles while helping to keep their host clean and protected.

Although Clownfish aren't currently endangered, the coral reefs and sea anemones they depend on are under threat from climate change, pollution and coral bleaching.

Join us on Wednesday 29th July at Port Laing, North Queensferry, and help us protect our local coastline.

🚶We'll have a group walking from North Queensferry Train Station at 9:50am, come and join us!

📍 Or meet us directly at Port Laing Beach at 10:00am.

🧤 We'll provide all the equipment—just bring sensible footwear and dress for the weather. We hope to see you there!

Meet the Clown Triggerfish!

With its bold black body, bright yellow markings and white spots, the Clown Triggerfish is one of the most eye-catching fish on the reef. But there's more to this fish than its striking looks—it can lock itself into rocky crevices using its strong dorsal fin to stay safe from predators.

Although Clown Triggerfish populations are currently stable, the coral reefs they call home are under increasing threat from climate change, pollution and habitat loss.

The harbour seal is one of the UK's favourite marine mammals, using its sensitive whiskers to detect prey and its powerful flippers to glide effortlessly through the water. 🦭

Its opponent, the sand tiger shark, is a master of the deep. Despite its fearsome appearance and rows of sharp teeth, it's a slow-moving, highly skilled hunter that can hover almost motionless underwater. 🦈
