“While bespoke framing remains at the heart of the business, the gallery has also become a destination for people looking to discover something special for their homes and businesses — with a particular emphasis on showcasing artwork by local artists.
For gallery owner Suzie Davidson-Kelly, supporting artists from the local area is an important part of what makes the business special.
“We’re incredibly proud of how the business has grown, and we’re so lucky to have such a wonderful variety of customers.”
“We work with interior designers, golf clubs and private clients, as well as artists, and no two days are ever the same.
We love being able to help people find the perfect frame for their artwork that they will really feel a strong sense of joy for.
Supporting local artists is something we feel very strongly about. There is so much amazing talent on our doorstep, and we want to give artists a place where their work can be seen and appreciated.”
The business has developed strong relationships with interior designers, providing artwork and framing for projects, while its work with golf clubs has opened up another avenue for displaying art in distinctive and welcoming environments.
For local customers the appeal is often much more personal — finding an original piece of art that feels right for their home and having it professionally framed to finish it perfectly.
And it is this combination of art, craftsmanship and community that has helped Hangar Art & Framing continue to grow.
“We’re a local independent business, and that really matters to us. We want people to come in, have a look around, discover an artist they might not have come across before and enjoy the experience. We’re busy, which is fantastic, but we’re also passionate about what we do. We feel very fortunate to be able to make a living doing something creative while supporting other local businesses and artists along the way.”
With the business continuing to grow and an ever-changing selection of artwork on display, Hangar Art & Framing looks set to remain a vibrant part of the local creative community.
