SENSORY SESSIONS 🦋

I just love that quote by Benjamin Franklin, ‘Tell me and I’ll forget. Teach me and I’ll remember. Involve me and I’ll learn.’ 🤲🏻

There’s just something so meaningful about being included and knowing that you matter. It’s more than just a learning tool for the mind; I think it actually speaks to the heart. 💕

In our sensory sessions, we bring our stories to life through the senses that each individual can connect with in a way that creates a sense of belonging. 🎈

Even those who prefer taking a little step back in group work, can find a space to still feel part of the gang at Debutots. 🌍

It’s such a special programme and I truly feel blessed seeing these sessions come alive. 🤩

S P O T L I G H T 💡

INTERGENERATIONAL SESSIONS 💐

I thought I’d start the week off with a lovely little look at how Debutots spans all ages. In these sessions pre-schoolers and care home residents come together and make friends through a Debutots story and lots of fun. 🤩

It’s not just the children who do the activities while residents watch - everyone has a part to play and that’s what makes these sessions so special. ✨

Both generations have the opportunity to make friends and build relationships with people older or younger than them - an opportunity that doesn’t happen often for so many in our communities. 🌈

There are so many powerful benefits of storytelling for both generations; stories enable us to reminisce, actively learn and imagine the unknown. 💭🫧📖

So if you are a care home looking to bring a sense of family to your residents or a child setting looking to create a sense of community for your little people, I’d love to tell you more. 🧡❤️💙

DEBUTKIDS 🎨 (8-11 years)

I just love how Debutots grows and adapts alongside children as they get older. As children’s imaginations change, Debutkids becomes the platform for increasing confidence, furthering skills and developing emotional expression. 🌱

Sessions become the stage to experiment with different parts that bring imaginations together - story making, script writing, directing, performing, prop/costume making… there is always a role for everyone in Debutkids. 🤝

From creating their very own story to seeing it come alive really is a special experience for everyone. 🧡❤️💙

So whether it’s for growing speaking and communication skills or developing creative and logical thinking, boosting confidence or creating space for social skills and leadership abilities DEBUTKIDS is here for it. 🫶🏽

It could also be a fab way to send p7’s off into the world of ‘big school’ with a belief in their ability and confidence in who they are as individuals. 🌅

EARLY YEARS DRAMA 🎭 (3-7 years)

Debutots has been carefully developed to link to the Pre-school, P1-P3 NI curricula frameworks so our programme works beautifully in pre-schools, nurseries and schools. 🏫

We take the topics you cover and turn them in to an interactive and imaginative space while making room for moments to explore our emotions too. I just love it! 🥰 Hearing the kids own ideas become part of the story is genuinely inspiring 💕

And in the midst of the fun, music, bubbles and stories we get to develop social, communication, attention, listening and language skills 🗣️👂🫧

The fun also doesn’t end in school; parents can also choose to receive free follow up home activities - win win! 🏡 🤩

So whether it’s through weekly classes in your setting, after school clubs, themed workshops, extended schools service, family learning.. we got you 😉

Oh! I’m also registered as an EANI supplier so if you ever get a wee pocket of funding, I’m already on the list! 🥳

BABY STORY PLAY 👶🏼 🌈 (6 months -3 years)

One of the things that drew me to Debutots was the depth and variety of programmes included under one name. 🧡❤️💙

Debutots is so much more than what I put on my social media (not my strong point!) so I thought I would take this week to highlight different elements of Debutots each day. That way you can see more of the magic and how it could work for your setting! ✨ 

Today it’s Baby Story Play 🌈. With a focus on babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers, Debutots begins to awaken the imagination while also encouraging early language development through wonder and fun 🤩.

If your setting provides for this age group and for families then I’d love to give you a free session so you can see what it’s all about 🩷.

N E W T E R M ☀️ 🌊 🌸

I had such a lovely term leading up to Easter 🐣 Thank you to everyone who had me come to visit, it really means the world ❤️

After 2 weeks with my own little gang 👩‍❤️‍👩 and too much chocolate, I am ready and raring for our Spring/Summer term 🎉

Lots of fab topics over the next couple months including growing gardens 🌷, ocean adventures 🐠 and school readiness 🏫

Aw what lovely kind words ✨ Thank you so much for having me McArthur Nursery School, I just loved spending the morning with such friendly and happy children 🧡❤️💙

🌟 We had such a fantastic morning at McArthur Nursery School with Natasha fromDebutots North Down and Ards! The children had a brilliant time joining in with 🎭 drama, 📚 storytelling and lots of fun games — full of imagination, laughter and teamwork.
It was all built around a lovely message about 💛 kindness and friendship, which ties in perfectly with how we help our children grow in confidence, communication and care for others.
A huge thank you to Natasha for bringing so much fun and energy to our day! 🙌

WHAT A DAY ❤️ 😊

A morning of spring storytelling in nurseries learning about the Festival of Holi and having some muddy farmyard fun. What a fab way to start my Friday! I may have got a little carried away with the mud… 🌈 🌷 🐷 🐮

Then it was off to EastSide Learning Reading Fair for creative storytelling and character creating! I just loved it! Thanks for having me 🥰

I was going to say time to put the feet up but I have two rascals who have definitely got that Friday feeling… 👯‍♀️ 🙈

D E B U T K I D S 🧡❤️💙

I’ve really loved getting to explore our Debutkids programme this year which is geared towards 8-11 year olds. 🧑

Debutkids is a unique blend of storytelling, story making and drama techniques. It develops a child’s confidence to speak, concentration to listen, enthusiasm to read and imagination to write. 📖 🎨 🎭 🗣️

I am just so thrilled to be able to watch the progress soar each week in classes. Seeing kids write their own stories and confidently express their thoughts out loud has felt really special. ✨

Such a great programme to invest in for older kids in schools to ignite their confidence transitioning to ‘big school’. 🏫 ❤️

SPRING HAS SPRUNG 🌷🌼

There’s beauty in every season but I have to admit for me Spring holds a special place in my heart 🩷
