It’s back — the 2nd Annual Art Competition hosted by Craft and Canvas — and yep, still the only one in Calderdale, which makes you basically iconic just for entering. 🏆

This year, we’ve upped the game with an incredible guest judge. And no, it’s not Sid-a-Lucious (he’s still in exile after the glitter/superglue fiasco of 2023).
This time, it’s someone with actual artistic cred. No pressure. 👀🎨

Whether your style screams gallery-worthy or “found this in my attic,” we want it. There are prizes. Prestige. And possibly a novelty mug that says “Live Forever (Through Art)”.

I am busy adding pages on my website for the back catalogues paintings that will be reduced at the Virtual Gallery launch on 17th February at 7pm. Those who attend will have first dibs on the reduced works. You can't see the new pages yet: they will be revealed at the time of the launch event!

I have just added "Joyful", my smallest picture, which would sell for £188 according to my normal pricing of 24p per square centimetre, but will be available for just £30!

Am I out of my cotton pickin' mind?!!!!! The start of the sixth repaint of "The Father's embrace" At least I think it is six. It could be more!
I have painted out his mouth and the bottom of his nose, with the plan of moving them higher up.
It's always a nerve wracking thing to do major surgery on a painting, but usually ends up with an improved result.

I've just sent out my art update for this month and have had three people emailing or messaging to say that they enjoyed reading it, and seeing how I was getting on with my paintings! 😀 I went for a blue and yellow theme, so it looks cheerful in these greyer days!

If you are thinking about ordering prints, or enquiring about an original which you would like delivered before Christmas, please can I ask you to do it sooner rather than later? When I was running Veritasse, there were occasionally people who were disappointed, because the printer could not produce...
