The Magic of Showbiz Singing, dancing and acting for ASN adults 🤩✨ Sessions run every Saturday 12:30-3pm Maxwell Mearns Castle Church Hall, Waterfoot Rd, Newton Mearns G77 5RE.

Founded in August 2017 by Joe Cates, The Magic of Showbiz is a thriving drama club located in Newton Mearns. The inspiration for this group began due to lack adult ASN Drama Clubs in the area. Over the past 4 years, MOSB has brought acting, singing, dancing and fun to so many young adults and shared the performances with the local community. We have a fully equipped team of Drama and Dance teacher

s, who have had specialist vocal, dancing and actor’s training. However, inspiration for the shows is collaborative process and the members dreams and aspirations are at the forefront of everything MOSB does. These skills are rolled out to our club members through our weekly sessions in which members of the MOSB Family get the chance to play games,work on scripts, learn choreography and prepare for our live productions. During every session, we are supported by trained care staff and members are welcome to bring their own support. We also are looking to welcome volunteers to join and help with club activities. The Magic of Showbiz aim to provide their group members with lots of skills, confidence and ultimately give them somewhere they can come to enjoy themselves and make friends. In the coming years we have many plans for the club and we intend to:
Host special guest workshops, the ability to teach members new skills in terms of technical theatres
We are also one of the first drama groups in the world to utilise DramaTherapy techniques for educational purposes. Participate in charity events, such as flash mobs to raise funds for the club. Perform in authentic theatre venues. Teach our members transferable life skills and independent living skills which they can take into the workplace. We even aim to offer additional support to members who wish to pursue acting qualifications or professional work. Most of all: HAVE FUN.
