Marking the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence, this yearโ€™s Hairtlan Festival will be hosting an ๐”๐ฅ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ-๐’๐œ๐จ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐†๐ฎ๐ข๐๐ž๐ ๐“๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐Œ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐ž ๐๐š๐ซ๐ค. ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ

The Guided Walking Tour will take place on Saturday 4th July at 4pm, meeting at Mourne Park, Kilkeel and will be led by Tour Guide Jon Morrison. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

The tour will have a special focus on local Ulster-Scots and Scots-Irish connections with Mourne Park. ๐ŸŒณ

Another Full Child Protection Course underway in Reivers Houseโ€ฆ โœ…

Two out of three of the sessions of our Full Child Protection course have been completed in Reivers House. โœ”๏ธ

Next week, 12 representatives from Ulster-Scots Groups, Marching Bands and Loyal Orders will have completed the full training course.

It has been a very busy six months of training already this year - there will be a break from training programmes during July and August, and we will forward to commencing further training programmes from September onwards! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Engagement with schools is an important part of the Schomberg Societyโ€™s educational outreach all year aroundโ€ฆ. โœ”๏ธ

It was a pleasure to visit pupils from Down High School and Lecale Trinity Grammar School in Downpatrick to give them a better understanding of Ulster-Scots as part of their Cultural Day.

The pupils enjoyed learning about the history of Ulster-Scots, the language we all use everyday, and of course the Lambeg Drum.

Introducing a new addition to our 11th Afternoon Ulster-Scots Family Fun Day Event in Kilkeelโ€ฆ.

There will be two sections - one for Scottish Breeds and one for All Breeds. ๐Ÿ•

Judging will commence at 11.30am in the Queen Elizabeth II Park, Kilkeel.
