We are a local community group based in Rathfriland in County Down dedicated to advance the education and appreciation of the Ulster and Ulster-Scots Music, Culture, history and traditions.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ July Cultural Fun Evening with bonfire and fireworks, Friday 10th July in Rathfriland πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

We are happy to announce that our annual July Cultural Celebration Night will be on again this year as part of the Rathfriland District 12th of July events.

This will be a family fun evening on Friday 10th July from 7pm until 10pm in the carpark at the orange assembly field on the Loughbrickland Road opposite the Baptist Church.

Itenary for the evening,

From 7pm on, Facepainters, balloon makers, bouncy castles, glitter tattoos.
Tug of war competition at 7pm in the assembly field.

Playing On Stage :
Grallagh Unionist FB 7pm - 7.30pm,
Commons Silver Newry 7.30pm - 8pm, Moneyslane FB 8pm - 8.30pm,
Closkelt Scottish Dancers 8.30pm - 9pm.

District bands will parade Rathfriland at 9pm with invited guests Mourne Young Defenders.

The parade will finish at the cultural evening where the bonfire will be lit and the night will finish off with a fireworks display.

Everyone is warmly invited.

Rathfriland Traditions and Arts Society is pleased again to be able to offer Ulster-Scots flute and drum tuition courses to the local community . The classes will be held on Monday nights at Lisnamulligan Orange Hall starting at 7:30pm to 9:30 pm, starting this week. T
his tuition is free, and everyone is welcome to come along to learn and experience Ulster-Scots music. The tuition is open to anyone of any experience, so if you’re a novice to the marching band flute or drum or someone wishing to brush up on old skills you'll find a place at our classes.
If you are interested in taking part or just want more information, please message the groups page, or just call out to Lisnamulligan Orange Hall on any Monday night and you'll be warmly welcomed. This activity has been made possible by the support of the Ulster-Scots Agency

All welcome to come along tonight to our annual 11th night fun evening. Lots to do , bands, fireworks and of course the bonfire.

Just a small request to be mindful of local residents when parking.
The car park at the Baptist Church will be made available as well as 1st, 2nd & 3rd Church car park and the High School will be open

We are happy to announce that our 11th Night celebrations will be on again this year in Rathfriland.

This will be a family fun evening from 6pm-9pm , more details in attached Flyers, followed by a parade around the town of local bands.

The parade will finish in the orange field car park opposite the Baptish Church where there will be further musical entertainment while the bonfire is lit and the night will finish off with a fireworks display.

Everyone is warmly invited.

🎢🎢 Rathfriland Traditions and Arts Society in partnership with Glascar Temperance LOL 1966 are happy to be able to present a night of Traditional Ulster-Scots Music and dance in the Sir Henry Wilson Memorial Oange Hall in Loughbrickland on Friday 28Th March starting at 7:30pm.

There is a great and varied line up on the night from Highland dancing , to accordion and story telling, flute, accordion and silver bands and ending the night with a Grade1 soloist piper.

Everyone will be made very welcome on the night.
This event is funded by the NIHE Community Cohesion fund.
