St Mawgan Rally is often coined as one of the best family friendly rallies. This fabulous community fund raising event has a real interactive feel. With the famous Majorettes, Dancing Diggers, Motorbike Limbo, Fergy Fillies, Landrover Challenge, Vintage Car obstacle course, Tractor Driving Challenge, Steam Engine Driving, evening entertainment, home made food, craft tent, bar, shopping, Clay Pigeon shooting...the list goes on and on. History of St Mawgan Rally. St Mawgan Eccentric Gentleman’s Association (SMEGA) formally SMEGMA was formed in the Falcon Inn, St Mawgan in 2004. The exact date has been lost in the mists of time but the original aim of SMEGA was to help out any local residents in need and raise money for local charities. Since then we have tackled numerous tasks including moving sheds and mowing lawns and on one occasion even moved the Church Organ in St Mawgan – We have to confess though that this was an electric Yamaha version and not the old one that you’d expect to find in a church! Over the years we’ve held many Charity Beach Barbecues at Mawgan Porth and often featured local bands for entertainment. We have our own marquees and provide them, along with our barbecue, to local events such as the Feast Day Sports and the local Gymkhana and Horseshow. The Annual St Mawgan Pram Push has our enthusiastic support and we’ve always tried to be there for the local school and church if needed. Our biggest change though, was when Maurice Raby – sadly no longer with us – suggested we should hold a vintage rally on his land just outside the village which was the home of St Mawgan Rally for over a decade. Without the help of local residents who pitch in and help wherever needed though, there is no doubt that this SMEGA event would struggle to take place. We would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the St Mawgan Rally committee & SMEGA to thank the people of St Mawgan and any others who give their valued help and support.

A COUPLE OF NEW ADDITIONS TO THE RALLY! 🪓🏹

If you were with us in 2024, you might remember the Laser Tag in the woods…

Well, it’s back for 2026 - AND this year we’re adding two more things to have a go at….

🏹 ARCHERY
🪓 AXE THROWING

We’re very grateful to have Under the Canopy joining us and bringing their stash along for the weekend!

So yes, the woods are going to be looking rather interesting this year…watch out! 😅

👀 A BLURRY SNEAK PEEK…

We’re not quite ready to show you the finished version yet, but we wanted to give you a little glimpse at something that has been in the works behind the scenes.

This map was actually created for last year’s rally, but sadly never got its moment. This year, we’re finally getting it printed and displayed at the rally entrance in all her glory! 🙌

The rally has always had a great map - DT’s CAD drawings were brilliant for keeping us organised behind the scenes - but we’ve never really had something designed with you lot in mind. Something you can look at when you arrive and actually see where everything is, what’s where and get your bearings for the weekend.

We’ve got a few little changes, additions and final touches to make over the next few weeks, so this is very much a blurry work-in-progress peek rather than the finished article. 😉

But we’re so excited to finally have something that helps you see just how much goes on around our HUGE rally site!

18th, 19th & 20th September ❤️🚜

All sorted now! Thank you to our rally community 💪🏼❤️
__________

Since the passing of DT, we don’t have a commentator for the vintage tractor section 😢

This is an SOS for someone from the vintage tractor community to come and share their knowledge with the crowd at St Mawgan Steam & Vintage Rally.

If we don’t find one, it will be Nicky or Cathy doing it, and we will just get “here is a Massey Ferguson, here is a T-20, here is a Field Marshall…” you get the picture. Their knowledge isn’t quite up to the standard that the rally needs. 😬

If you’re passionate about inspiring the younger (or older generation) to take an interest in vintage tractors, please help 🙏🏼

🔥🐴 SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT COMING TO THE RALLY THIS YEAR…🐴🔥

We’re really excited to be bringing a Farrier Competition to St Mawgan Steam & Vintage Rally this September!

Taking place across Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th September, this will see farriers putting their skills to the test in a proper competition - including open gas forging, free forging, pony shoeing and more..let's see who is crowned Farrier Champion!

It’s being sponsored by South West Farrier Supplies, Handmade Shoes, Stromsholm Farrier Supplies, Tyler's Hoof Care Products and Nick Plant, and we think it’ll be a brilliant addition to the rally.

You don’t need to know anything about farriery to enjoy it either - come and watch the skill, speed and craftsmanship involved in what is a incredible trade 🔥

🏆 Judge: John Benfield
📞 For those wishing to take part, please contact Ryan Chapman: 07734 787044

And of course, you can see it all as part of your normal rally weekend ticket.

Another reason to get yourselves to the rally! 🚜❤️

❤️ That’s a wrap…and what a result! ❤️

Our Big Online Auction is now officially closed, and thanks to your INCREDIBLE generosity we’ve raised an amazing…

🎉 £6,120! 🎉

To every business that donated a prize, every single person who placed a bid, shared a post, tagged a friend or simply got behind the auction…thank you.

We genuinely didn’t know what to expect when we decided to give this a go. This was the first time we’d ever organised an online auction, and we’ve been learning as we’ve gone - figuring things out, delegating jobs and hoping we hadn’t forgotten anything along the way!

To raise £6,120 is beyond anything we imagined.

Every penny will help secure the future of the St Mawgan Steam & Vintage Rally, allowing us to continue bringing our community together and raising money for local charities and good causes for years to come.

🥳 Congratulations to all of our winners!

Please bear with us over the next few days while we work through all of the winning bids and arrange for everyone to receive their prizes. We’ll be in touch with you as soon as we can.
