It’s a little late to be posting these Día de Mu***os skulls - but they were so colourful I’ve only just brought myself to take them down from the art room walls! 🇲🇽💀✨

We created these using a combination of foam shape printmaking, spray inks, tissue paper and of course a smattering of sequins 🤩

As part of our Sweet Treats unit, Year 7 learnt about two point perspective whilst thinking about how light and shade hit objects.

This painting really pushed them and took several weeks to complete, but I’m so proud of their results! 🙌✨

Inspired by the work of contemporary artist , my class created their very own perfectly whipped scoops of ice cream in acrylics. How bold and beautiful did these turn out!🍦

We learnt about painting with tools other than a brush, colour mixing, wet on wet technique AND most importantly: which is the best ice cream flavour.* ✨

* It’s mint chocolate chip!🍦

If in doubt: make your own collage papers ✂️

As a collage enthusiast, I would say that *hands down* having great things to collage with makes the process so much more enjoyable.

This is a lesson I’ve run for several years now: making our own collage papers with any number of different guided techniques. Today we got to chop everything up and I virtually had to pry glue sticks and scissors out of hands to end this class 😅

I’ll be sure to share what we made with these beautiful patterned papers soon! ✨

What a gorgeous morning of copper and cosy crafting ✨

It was so great to be back running a workshop for adults! I feel like we all need to carve out time to be creative and this was the perfect opportunity, amongst what is a pretty hectic time of year.

It was a nice surprise to stop by the Sang recently for a dog walk and catch sight of this logo I put together for Allotments Association! 🪴

These feisty dragons have just been released into the wild! 🐉 💨 🔥 ✨

This is such a fun project I’ve run for two years now, introducing primary age artists to warm and cool colours, painting techniques, drawing methods and so much more. I love seeing all the characters come out in the final lesson!
