Based in the Riverfront Theatre, COBRA Music Studios are a contemporary recording studio for traditional styles of music. We work predominantly with small ensembles, soloists and narrators at the studio, and are specialists in on-location recording, working with choirs, brass bands and orchestral ensembles across the UK.

We recently had the pleasure of recording author Deborah Rose Halani narrating her book, Coming Back to My Trees / Dod yn ôl at fy Nghoed, here at COBRA Music Studios 🌿🎙️

A deeply personal and lyrical exploration of hiraeth, heritage, spirituality and belonging, the book journeys through the landscapes, myths and sacred places of Wales with real warmth and honesty.

Deborah recorded the audiobook in our custom-built Studiobricks booth, creating the perfect space to capture every nuance of the story 🌲✨

Projects like this are a reminder of how powerful spoken storytelling can be, especially when a voice is so closely connected to the words on the page.

The book is available now in paperback, and we’re excited for listeners to experience the audiobook version too 📚🎧

Fresh from winning the 2026 Battle of the Bands at The Foundry, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming The Lost & Found into the studio to record three properly incredible tracks 🔥

The band brought serious energy from the very first take. Big riffs, massive choruses, and the kind of live chemistry that makes the control room lights up like a Christmas tree 🎛️🔥🎶⚡️

Can’t wait for people to hear these tracks when they land… they’re sounding MEGA. 🚀🎶

My Body is a Meadow by Bethany Handley 🌿🎙️

We had the privilege of recording this powerful and deeply lyrical audiobook on behalf of Hachette UK — and, in truth, it felt like a double privilege from start to finish.

A work that moves between nature writing and memoir, it carries a quiet intensity throughout, unfolding with honesty, clarity, and real emotional weight.

For us as a studio, it’s always something special to help shape stories like this into sound - work that doesn’t just sit on the page, but asks to be felt, considered, and carried forward. Stories that don’t simply exist to be consumed, but to gently shift perspective… opening doors, and sometimes asking why they were ever closed in the first place.

A real honour to bring this one to life in the studio 🌾✨

A great day in Newbury working with Soul Reason! Led by Maia Hendrickx, the group brought a seriously solid sound from the off - tight, musical, and full of character. Always a good sign when things settle as quickly as they did! 🎙️🎶🎧👏

Plenty of laughter across the day, a few emotional moments too - and some incredible pieces in the programme! A couple were new to me, but have definitely made their way onto the playlist 🎧

Recorded at Ace Space, Newbury - a lovely room to work in and a perfect fit for the session 🌟

Huge thanks to Maia and everyone in the choir for such a wonderful day - a real pleasure to be part of it! Looking forward to sharing more from this one soon ✨💫

A brilliant few days in the studio with Lloyd Llewellyn-Jones producing Babylon on behalf of Hachette 🎙️📚

It’s always a pleasure welcoming Lloyd back - this marks his third book in the studio with us, and it’s been a real privilege to be part of bringing his work to life in the audiobook world.

There’s something special about working with an author who knows their world inside out - every line intentional, every moment grounded in real understanding. We also put our brand new vocal booth through its paces on this one, capturing a beautifully clean, intimate sound that really lets the narration breathe.

A huge effort, a fantastic few days, and a project we’re really proud to have been part of.

Can’t wait for this one to be out in the world 👀✨

A real pleasure to welcome Sophie and the band from Llan Ministry Area back into the studio last week 🎶

After first working together a couple of years ago, it was brilliant to have the band back in to record another 10 pieces for use in their church services 🌟💫

There’s something really special about projects like this - creating music that’s not just heard, but used week in, week out, supporting real moments in the community!

Huge thanks to the team and everyone involved for such a lovely session. Always a joy to work together 🤝✨
