Every May half term, we pack up the cars, pitch the tents and set up the caravans, and head off on our annual camping trip – and this year we landed in Carmarthenshire right in the middle of the heatwave! ☀️🏕️
The week was full of everything you’d expect: water fights, BBQs, dogs, marshmallow roasting, plenty of laughter, and not nearly enough sun cream (as some of our sunburnt faces can confirm! 😂).
Staying on a working farm meant we had front-row seats to the sheep and cows all week, adding to the adventure. And yes, one of our members even attempted to catch a sheep to “help the farmer” – a moment that had the rest of us in stitches! 🐑🤣
We spent our days chasing shade under the tarpaulin, gathering around our camping chairs for a chat, making ice cream deliveries from tent to tent, and finding any excuse to cool off. As the sun went down, it was time for BBQs, marshmallows around the fire, and those late nights sat around the tents playing Imposter, where the accusations got wilder as the week went on! 😂
Trips like these are exactly why we love our annual camping week. We’re more than just a society – we’re a family. From the organised activities to the completely random moments that become the stories we tell all year, it’s the memories we make together that make these trips so special.
Roll on next May!
