BIG UP TROJAN 7
Huge gratitude to DJ Wax for inviting me to join the TROJAN 7 sound system this year, the 60th year of Carnival. I debuted carnival on Powis Square with thanks to Linett Kamala LIN KAM ART in 2024 as a part of SOUND SYSTEM FUTURES on the LIN KAM ART TROJAN 7 SOUND SYSTEM and to be invited last year to support an alternative carnival space presenting carnival traditions such as Jonkonnu and the incredible and this year to be invited to join TROJAN 7 SOUND means a lot. The music I love is massively influenced by sound system culture and being a part of a sound isn’t about just DJing - from setting up to set down I really appreciated being invited to get involved. So while I appreciate the big up from the MCs in this video, the special is the whole crew. DJ Wax introduced me to mixing vinyl last year (and *AS I REMEMBER* was impressed with how I handled his records 🤣) It’s something I’ve really been getting into. thanks for adding to my record collection with your original music. DJing alongside and Alvin playing his original jungle music was a massive honour. As well as alongside MCs .2030 and . Plus respect to Mark, and the family. Plus respect to the Powis Square and Notting Hill community and to the organisers and to everyone who contributes. The vibe and respect this year was 💛
