Is your children entitled to free school meals? Do you know a family at risk of financial hardship? A free packed lunch style meal will be available this Saturday 17th December with a range of activities 👇 🎅

HELP US // We're still looking for children eligible for free school meals this festive season. Can you help us spread the word?

We have 60 free festive lunches available to children in receipt of any benefits related to free school meals. From universal credit to Ukrainian family support, we're looking to support as many children as possible.

The lunches will be given out at our Santa's Workshop on Saturday 17th December at the Memorial Hall between 10am - 4pm. To book a lunch for your child, please register in advance by calling 01638 667227 or email [email protected].

The event is funded by the Government’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, coordinated locally by West Suffolk Council and supported by Star Radio. Our thanks go to all who have made the programme so accessible!

In two days we will be opening the doors to Newmarket’s Winter Wonderland with FREE ice rink available for all to enjoy from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th December. Each ice- skating session will last 15 minutes, subject to demand. Be prepared to queue and remember to wrap up warm. But the magic doesn’t stop there. The snow globe is back for a photo opportunity with Santa, carousels for £1,50 per ride, indoor and outdoor Christmas market selling locally sourced food, drink and gifts.

3 DAYS TO GO // How is your Christmas shopping going so far? With not long to go until the big day itself, why not pop along to our indoor Christmas Market in the Memorial Hall next weekend and tick off a few more gifts?

The Makers Market welcomes 20 stall holders, providing a mix of gift ideas, from jewellery to soaps, skincare to clothing. Shopping has never been so easy 😀

We will also have an ice rink and food vendors in the Memorial Gardens bringing even more festive fun for the whole family. No booking is required for the ice rink, and its completely free to use. Slots will be allocated on a first come first served basis, lasting 15 minutes each. Skates will be provided.

4 DAYS TO GO // Are you joining us this Friday for the opening of our ice rink? Available from 1pm Friday, Saturday/ Sunday between 10am - 4pm, come along and enjoy free sessions and free skate hire for all. We have limited aids available for younger children, all of which are available on a first come first served basis.

Once you're finished, warm up with a hot drink and some food from our local vendors too ☕🌭🧇🧁

This beautiful snow globe will return to the Memorial Gardens during our Winter Wonderland, with Santa popping in to say hello on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December 🎅 🎅

Come along and meet the Big Man himself between:

Newmarket Town Council would like to thank everyone who helped to make ''Taste of Christmas'' a huge success. Although we had an issue with the Grinch trying to stop the event by stealing the alpine huts, we didn’t let this hinder the day! We would like to give special thanks to all those who visited the event, and would like to ask visitors to provide some quick feedback via our survey, so we can focus on improving next year’s Christmas event!

The Grinch tried to steal Christmas!!!!
Unfortunately, the alpine huts were stolen in transit. However, we have managed to source 3 huts, last minute. The Christmas market is going ahead in the Memorial Gardens and Hall.
