FREE ART WORKSHOPS FOR YOUNG CREATIVES IN NEWHAVEN THIS SUMMER.

Hospitable Environment are delighted to offer free workshops in the run up to EMERGING SUSSEX.

All are run by professional artists and arts educators who are working in .

Workshop with CEMENT Cement
11th Aug 10 am - 3 pm
with Alison Hand and Julian Wild
A hands on 1 day workshop helping 14-18 year olds to explore contemporary art techniques including: making stencils and spray painting with multiple layers and making clay moulds for plaster casting. 
By the end of the day you will have made an artwork that can be displayed at Emerging Sussex.

Workshop with NEWHAVEN ART PROJECTS

15th Aug 9:45am - 12 PM
with Nick March and Helen Tuner
A hands‑on half‑day workshop for artists aged 18–25 exploring the theme Curious Mind through contemporary painting and conceptual practice.
Across the morning you’ll experiment, play, and develop ideas that push your creative thinking. By the end of the session, you will have produced a finished 2D artwork ready to be displayed in Emerging Sussex.

with Sam Ford
A hands on 1 day workshop helping 16-25year olds explore contemporary art techniques. This workshop invites artists to explore how care, memory, and curiosity can be expressed through using a range of materials. You’ll investigate how memories are held, triggered, or transformed through tactile and visual processes.
Through guided experimentation, create as a way of remembering, testing how texture, colour, gesture, and form can evoke personal or collective narratives. The session encourages playful inquiry, reflective making, and an open‑minded approach to contemporary art formats.
By the end of the day you will have made a range of artworks that can be displayed in Emerging Sussex.
