MEET THE TEAM! ♥️

This is Siou (she/her) our artistic director at HYC!

In 2021 Siou founded Haven Young Creatives together with Bex Milner to give young people in Newhaven an opportunity to access the arts and to share her knowledge.

Siou is a Drama therapist, Youth Coach and teacher of theatre practice. She originally trained as a dancer, was a professional performer then went on to work as a Lecturer in Performing Arts for many years. Her career began with Emergency Exit Arts working on community arts projects in London. She has directed many arts projects in a variety of settings, from a Storytelling Residency in a prison, to collaborating on a site- specific installation on a beach commissioned by Brighton Festival.

MEET THE TEAM! ♥️

This is Nelly (they/them) our assistant facilitator at HYC! 🎭

Nelly has 10 years of experience in various styles of theatre and writing for performance. They are a member of the National Youth Theatre, trained in Drama, Theatre and Performance at the University of Sussex and in acting at Kingdom School of Arts. This role is the first position that started Nelly on their facilitating drama for young people journey and they are so grateful for it! 🫂

MEET THE TEAM! ♥️

This is Sian (she/her) our lead facilitator at HYC!

Sian has 10 years of experience in performance, stage management and the arts. She trained in Musical Theatre and Music at Chichester University. Sian began as our assistant facilitator and is now our lead! Although Sian is the educator in the space, she prides herself on being a lifelong learner. 📝
