How is BODi Dance different?
- Movement variety - between pulsing strong rhythms to flowing, spiraling and graceful gestures. Music variety- from Celtic, New Age, Samba, Classical, Electronic Dance, Afrobeat, Ambient, Lounge and Folk, and much more. The detail of alignment in healthy joint movement, built on decades of functional fitness knowledge. Adaptability- Every body, however, out of shape

and uncoordinated, or supremely athletic and at the peak of fitness, all in one class. Sensory awareness - learn to fine tune your senses and listen to feedback from the body; for alignment, for adjustment, for bringing you into the present moment and for more comfort and pleasure in your body. Move and generate ‘Chi’ and set your focus and intention set at the beginning of each session. The 8 keys to fitness, Flexibility, Agility, Mobility, Stability, Strength, Pandiculation, Surrender and Support are incorporated into the whole session. We integrate the whole body seamlessly to soothe the nervous system, while challenging co-ordination to build healthy neuro-pathways, breaking habits - a major factor in keeping young. Maintaining a focus throughout class and how this can help us in every day life.

This isn't just about following choreographed steps; it's about surrendering to the music, allowing it to guide our bodies in a dance of freedom and expression. While our movements may be guided, there's ample space for individual interpretation, encouraging each dancer to find their unique groove and rhythm.

This Embodied Dance is a rhythm that echoes through your daily life, enhancing meaningful experiences, fostering resilience, moments of reflection, gratitude and enhancing social connections.

The musical playlist for our Sanctuary dance draws heavily from the music repertoire of Karl Jenkins. To categorize 'Adiemus' simply as a piece for sopranos and orchestra would confine it within preexisting conventions, a limitation that the Welsh composer would probably contest.

While the piece finds its inspiration in gospel and African musical traditions, and the rhythmic percussion imparts a tribal-like cadence to the unrestrained vocals, it intriguingly adopts structures from the European classical tradition, such as rondo and ternary forms.

Respecting the body's intelligent architecture, the choreography emphasizes joint care and the cultivation of healthy movement patterns. It is not merely a sequence of steps but a dance that listens and responds to the body's wisdom. In a non judgemental enviroment, everyone is welcome.

Life long friendships have been made.

There are no strangers , only friends you have not yet met.

EMBODi Dance becomes a symphony of sensations—participants feeling the subtle shifts in weight, the gentle stretch of muscles, the rhythm of breath, and the pulsating beat of their own heart. Through this sensory exploration, the dance becomes a dialogue between the external movements and the internal responses, weaving a tapestry of holistic experience.

‘Latino love ‘ ENERGYBODi Dance routine is inspired by Rhumba, Samba, Cha cha, Paso double, Salsa dance for their energy & Joy! FREE TASTER TOMORROW 9AM! This course we evolve and polish our moves from last course, adding some more partner dances. This creation, by Jo and Heather, adds decades of Nia dance training and Fitness knowledge to blend both tradtional and inspired dance for mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. Jo was inspired to create this with her background as Ballroom Dancer '' My grandparents were Ballroom dancers, I grew up with their trophies from local dance competitions on the fire place! Sparkly dancing dresses in the wardrobe & “Come dancing “ on the TV. It seemed only natural my childhood dance classes were Ballroom and Latin American!
I danced from age 8 into my teens & progressed to the National Award standard. I learned to waltz & to jive, & everything in between! Including a little bit of Scottish dancing!
I love to dance, but I specially fell in love with the Latino dances such as Rhumba, Samba, Cha cha, Paso double, Salsa 💃The ‘Latino love ‘ Dance routine is inspired by these dances & their energy & Joy!
