SENTINEL — Copenhagen Light Festival ✨
It’s a real privilege to have been invited by the Danish Architecture Center (DAC) to show Sentinel outside DAC at on Copenhagen’s waterfront.

Installed at Træbryggen, Sentinel is an immersive light sculpture that balances precision and softness: straight elements, each subtly shifted from the next, build a sweeping wing-like curve that feels drawn through space. As you move, the form appears to open and fold - from a single gesture into a fan of luminous lines - while warm golden light drifts through the structure in a slow, continuous flow, like a wingbeat held in time.

Part of Copenhagen Light Festival at DAC: 29 Jan – 18 Feb, illuminated daily 17:00–22:00

Hvis du vil ud at opleve 2026, er BLOX et godt sted at starte. Copenhagen Light Festival og udstiller hele tre værker – på Bryghuspladsen, i den offentlige Havnepassage under BLOX og på træbryggen ud mod havnen.

Winter Lights at Canary Wharf - 10th edition ✨ (DREAMSCAPE, 20–31 Jan 2026) 
Now that the festival has closed, here’s a look back at Blueprint.

Blueprint is a light + sound sculpture inspired by the DNA double helix - two intertwined strands spiralling around a shared axis. Research data from TLR7 gene work (Professor Christian Hedrich’s team, Liverpool) was mapped onto the lighting, shaping shifts in colour, rhythm and intensity, with a nod to four-colour sequencing chemistry.
Composer and sound artist sonified the same dataset to produce the audio - turning the data into a shared sensory experience.

Teoksessa Slinkyn valtava mittakaava kääntää lelun ja ihmisen mittasuhteet päälaelleen luoden kutistumisen tunteen – kuin olisimme Liisa Ihmemaassa. Teos haastaa näin roolimme katsojana ja horjuttaa tavanomaista suhdettamme esineisiin ja ympäröivään maailmaan.

The city center is getting LIT by the Brits!✨ During Lux Helsinki, you can experience the mirror maze-like Continuum installation at Rautatientori, while Keskuskatu will finally showcase the long-awaited giant Slinky toy in the End Over End artwork.

Childhood stories are surely evoked in many minds by the popular and iconic Slinky spring toy. The oversized scale of the Slinky turns the proportions between you and the toy upside down, while creating a sense of shrinking, as if we were Alice in Wonderland. It challenges our role as viewers and disrupts our usual relationship with objects and our environment.

Light Trail Spotlight ✨

Sentinel by

Sentinel is a large-scale and immersive artwork by Studio Vertigo. Its sweeping curves are inspired by the protective wings of a canary, drawing on Wakefield’s renowned coal mining heritage. Canaries hold a special place in history here, having saved a great many lives by accompanying miners into the pit, where a sudden halt to their singing would warn workers of deadly gases and the need to evacuate.

Studio Vertigo is an art and design collective led by artists Lucy McDonnell and Stephen Newby. The studio creates public light installations for international exhibition.

We are honoured to be invited to exhibit at 2024 Design and Art in Seoul for the 10th anniversary of Zaha Hadid’s incredible Dongdaemun Design Plaza.

Our Beating Heart will be at the spectacular Grass Hill outside the DDP until 8.9.2024. Thousands of mirror fragments on the heart’s surface reflect tiny dapples of light onto the DDP’s myriad of curved facade panels, reflections moving and changing as the heart rotates.

An unexpected sight to behold outside of a nightclub venue or disco, Our Beating Heart brings the mirror ball principle to a grand scale. It is inspired by the idea of shared love and the disco ball’s ability to bring people together. The multi-faceted mirrored surface reflects the diversity of the crowd, creating a sense of unity and shared experience.
