A different perspective.

I wanted this tiger to feel enticing rather than imposing, softened by colour and viewed with a little more curiosity than fear.

It’s obvious to label things that can harm us as dangerous. But most of the time, whether in nature or in life, things are rarely that simple. The tiger isn’t trying to be feared or admired it simply exists as it was meant to.

I wanted to re-centre the focus of this piece to colour, joy, excitement. Rather than the dominating, powerful & threatening feel that I easily could have made.

Some of you may have seen already… I have been shortlisted for the Wildlife Artist of the Year!

My painting ‘Panthera pardus orientalis’ will be exhibited in central London from 8th–12th September and will be available to view online from 27th August 🙌🏻

I’m incredibly honoured to be part of this exhibition. I always hoped my work would make the journey from my home in Northumberland to London one day, so it’s safe to say I’m excited 🙏🏻

Inspired by the critically endangered Amur leopard, this painting explores beauty, vulnerability, and humanity’s role in extinction.

I’ve wanted to explore big cats for a while, but always felt I had to stick to local wildlife. This exhibition has definitely given me the confidence to branch out a little more… keep your eyes peeled 👀

The paintings that tend to stay with people aren’t always the loudest ones.

They’re the works that reveal themselves gradually.

This piece was built through layers, revisions and uncertainty. The final image emerged rather than being planned from the start, and that history is still visible in the surface.

I’m off to Northumberland County Show tomorrow… as many of you know I often trade at my local shows, however this time I am honoured to have been asked to Judge the Creative North Marquee!

Such an exciting opportunity and I truly can’t wait to see what amazing crafts & creations are up for prizes 🙌🏼
