It seems like forever since we sang together so we can’t wait for our Summer Sing workshop in Horsley and Wylam this weekend. We’re looking forward to warming up our vocal cords again and working on some new repertoire. Why not come along and hear how we’re getting on in an informal free concert at St Oswin’s Church in Wylam on Sunday 30th August at 3pm?

Toi, toi, toi to all our members, friends and colleagues taking part in the BBC Proms from The Glasshouse International Centre for Music this afternoon at 4pm. “Choirs on the Concourse” conducted by Sofi Jeannin will feature the amazing Jess Gillam on saxophone, the BBC Singers, Voices of the Rivers Edge and the Chorus of Royal Northern Sinfonia in an epic 3 hour concert of choral music set on a stage with the iconic backdrop of the River Tyne. Limited availability for tickets but it is being recorded for broadcast later in August.

Sofi Jeannin conducts three amazing choirs: BBC Singers, Chorus of Royal Northern Sinfonia, and Voices of the River’s Edge. They’re joined by saxophone superstar Jess Gillam for a host of goosebump-inducing performances.

Well what a fantastic concert that was a couple of weeks ago and such a lovely appreciative audience! Thank you to all those who came along to hear From Dawn to Dusk and huge thanks to Len Young for his gorgeous piano interludes.

Our next performance will be an informal concert at St Oswin’s Church in Wylam on Sunday 30th August at 3pm; the conclusion of our Summer Sing weekend. All welcome to come along and hear us trying out some of our new repertoire.
