Recorded over the last decade or so in various bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, conservatories, social clubs, garages, sheds, studios, schools and back gardens in the North East and North West of England, our debut album ‘The Pre-Amps’ presents a selection of our work from being young teenagers up to today (featuring performances from five Pre-Amps in total).
It covers an array of musical genres from Psychedelic Rock to Janglepop with hints of Baroque Pop and Folk (there’s even a novelty pidgin-Spanish song on there about a bad sunburn Rob got whilst on holiday in 2023), yet maintains an overall distinctive ‘sound’ with countless harmonies and elaborate instrumentation on each track.
We also had the pleasure of recording a song called ‘Don’t Let It Get You Down’ for the album which was sent to us as a demo and written by our friend Kenny Parry (Liverpool Express, Colonel Bagshot etc.) We’ve even included a 1960s-style interpretation of the traditional 19th-century sea shanty ‘Leave Her, Johnny’.
The album is AVAILABLE NOW on all streaming platforms and ready to pre-order on vinyl and CD (please get in touch for details to order your physical copy).
We hope you all enjoy listening to it; it’s been a long time in the making.
