🎵 THIS IS WHY WE BUILT IT 🎵
Today marks the completion of the latest stage of our studio upgrade at Beyond Music.
To some people, it might just look like a new mixer, a stage box, some cables and a rearranged studio.
But to us, it’s so much more than that.
Over the last few years we’ve been building something special in Newcastle’s West End.
What started with a small record shop 8 years ago, has grown into a recording studio, record label, live performance spaces and a Community Interest Company dedicated to creating opportunities through music.
Along the way we’ve supported local artists, bands and young people through recording sessions, rehearsal space, workshops, advice, mentoring and development opportunities whenever we’ve been able.
In recent weeks we’ve also welcomed young people into the studio through work skills and music sessions delivered alongside schools and partner organisations.
For many people, walking into a recording studio is something they take for granted.
For others, it’s an opportunity they’ve never had.
That’s why this matters.
Our upgraded studio is now fully equipped to work with:

With professional multitrack recording, overdubs, multi-room monitoring, artist headphone mixes and talkback facilities, we can now offer even more opportunities to artists and young people across our community.
We’re also incredibly proud that one of the next projects through the studio will be helping a talented young band from Newcastle’s West End record and release their very first single.
Not just digitally, but potentially on a real 7” vinyl record through Beyond Records.
That’s exactly why Beyond Music exists.
To create opportunities.
To build confidence.
To support creativity.
To help people discover what they’re capable of.
And to prove that talent exists everywhere when people are given the chance to shine.
