A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in Newcastle Piano Festival 2026!

This year was our most successful yet. We welcomed nearly 650 festival-goers to our programme of 17 events from 15 amazing artists.

We were also delighted to launch our ‘I Love Piano’ programme for disadvantaged children and to provide bespoke mentee programmes for our two piano mentees. On top of this, a generous private donor allowed us to invite all under 18s to attend any of our events for free.

It was truly a family affair, with something for all ages to enjoy!

We couldn’t have achieved this without our team of dedicated volunteers, the venue, our sponsors and, of course, our wonderful Semibreve CIC supporters and festival audience.

Thank you for being part of this community. Each year we aim to create an inclusive and welcoming festival that makes a positive difference and, thanks to your continued support, we have been able to do just that!

Feel free to tag yourself in any photos and share your favourite festival memories!

One of the nicest parts of the festival is seeing what happens when people come together to make music.

The Piano Ensemble Showcase is exactly that, pianists sharing work developed over the week, shaped through collaboration, coaching and a lot of listening.

It’s relaxed, varied, and full of personality. No two performances feel quite the same, and that’s the point.

A gentle afternoon of music, and a chance to hear the festival from the inside.

There’s something quite special about sharing a piano.

Eight Hands Extravaganza brings four pianists together on one stage, listening, responding, and creating something that only really exists in that moment.

The programme moves through different styles and moods, but what ties it together is that sense of collaboration. It’s not about one voice, it’s about many, and how they meet in the middle.

If you’ve been to the festival before, you’ll know the feeling. If not, this is a lovely place to start.
