And that concludes another spooky week of Halloween performances at Beamish Museum - thanks to Labyrinth for having us as part of the team! It was great to be back in the Pit Village Bandhall, sharing with the illustrious The Great Divinator - our very own little theatre (complete with coal fire) for the week!

We've had a great weekend performing in the Puppet Cabaret at Skipton Puppet Festival, with acts Liminal, Count Ocular and HUNGRY (Pictured). 🎭

Artists attend the UK's first "puppet symposium" in Skipton, held during the town's puppet festival.

We can't wait to perform at Smethwick Puppetry Festival next year! Support UK puppetry and access to the arts by helping BC Touring reach their Crowdfunding target to help cover costs.

PUPPETEERS! Let us know what you think about a Puppet Fringe in Newcastle (UK) 👇

MOVING PARTS PUPPET FRINGE???🤔

🎭 Puppet Artists - let us know your thoughts! We are considering expanding / diversifying / reimagining what Newcastle Puppetry Festival is and what it can offer to artists and audiences. One of the new elements we are considering is facilitating a puppet fringe festival alongside the main festival programme. This would work differently to the main festival programme in the following ways...

⭐️The programme would be open to all puppetry / visual theatre companies who would like to perform. The application process would be different to the main festival programme which goes through a rigorous shortlisting process with very limited slots. The Fringe programme would offer a wider platform to puppetry companies wanting to present work.

⭐️ We would not be able to pay artist fees for performances or offer a guarantee (unlike the main programme), however the opportunity would be weighted in the artist's favour as much as possible. We would cover venue hire, support with marketing and provide technicians. Ticket sales income would also be heavily weighted in the artist's favour. This would in no way be a money making venture for Moving Parts. Artists would need to cover their own travel and accommodation (unlike the main programme).

⭐️ We would love to see the Moving Parts Puppet Fringe spread around Newcastle to as many different venues as possible. The main programme already pulls artists, audiences and professionals from around the world, including programmers and festival delegates.

LET US KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS! Would you or your company be interested in taking part hypothetically? Comment below, DM us, or email us at [email protected] 🖤

We've had a fantastic week at Pôle International de la Marionnette - Jacques Félix performing Count Ocular and The Carriage of Wonders (the latter pictures below). The Carriage is a collaboration between Tatwood Puppets and Judith Hope - Puppet Maker and it was brilliant to bring it to Charleville (which inspired its creation!)
