This month's postcard is in the post and I'm travelling tomorrow, I'm on the hunt for colourful things and beautiful places and I can't wait to share them with you all as that's what this page was set up for!

In the meantime, I definitely found the colour and the sunshine in the Ouseburn Valley on Sunday.

Whilst I'm waiting for this months postcard to come back from the printers I thought I would post this. It's been a long, hard winter and I am craving travel, adventures and colour in my life. All I want to do currently is get on a train or a plane and go in search of the most colourful places and then I can spread a little joy!

Over the next few months, I am going to try and revive this slightly neglected page and I'm not really asking for anything in return other than to like the posts if you see them and with luck, I can build this page which is all about colour and colourful living.

Love locks are everywhere now, aren't they? In some places, they're everywhere. And then there are the more subtle ones like these that I found in Perth 2016.

Now that this month's Colour My World postcards are hitting the mats of subscribers I can reveal that this month's colourful image is from John O'Groats, you cannot get any further NE before you fall in the water and from the edge of the pier as you look out you can see Orkney. What I didn't realise when I went was that the Shetland Isles are a further 141 miles away!! They're somewhere I definitely want to visit one day.

The colourful buildings in this photograph are actually a hotel, it wasn't open when I visited in late August 2020 and John O'Groats was quiet due to the pandemic but it was an epic trip I took alone and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as something you do in your own lifetime. The far north line is one of the most remote railway lines and you go past lochs and see deer at the side of the line, it's truly amazing.

Colour my world subscribers, I wanted to do something lovely for you for Christmas so I ordered prints and guess what? They got lost in the post and finally turned up this afternoon, I’m going to get them into the post tomorrow so hang onto your hats!!

I've just sent November's postcard to the printing lab and I think you are going to love it, I won't reveal what it is before you have it but I can promise you that it will not be available anywhere else but here. It won't be sold as a print, it's a real exclusive.

In the meantime, I have been creating colourful things for gifts like this multi-purpose canvas pouch which is created with multi-layered heat transfer vinyl on an eco-friendly cream canvas pouch, if you are a photographer you could use it for your memory cards and batteries. It's been a real labour of love to create this and I am so happy with it.

It's one more way to live the most colourful life.

I've loved our city centre in Newcastle this summer, it's colourful, vibrant and looks amazing in the sunshine. I hope this trend of making colourful spaces in our towns and cities continues forever because I will always be a lover of colour, I should also tell you I have a flipside which is all about the dark, warm and cosy but that's for a completely separate project ;)
