Musicella - Creative music & dance

HELLO !!
Sept 1st feels like the right time to jump on here and introduce myself to those who don't know me ...
I'm Vicki, the founder & creator of Musicella ..
"Musicella" pronounced Music- Kella !
Why ? Well the inspiration came from "A Capella " meaning voice alone ..
So, in my classes you'll find me singing along with my guitar, ukulele and keyboard .. using a few tracks for movement or bubbles ... but I'm a big believer that our voice is our instrument .. & your little ones love to hear your voice !!
But apart from that, I like to say I strive to create a warm, welcoming & inclusive environment where I'll use your little one's name & yours ... ( forgive me for getting muddled at times ..! ) it means so much to me to see groups bonding & friendships forming.. I know from when my kids were little how isolating being a new Mum can be.. so I really hope I do make each and every person who comes to my class welcome !!
We play & sing a variety of well known songs and tunes with a heap of props & instruments ... & each class ends with a percussion jam & a rendition of " she'll be coming round the mountain without fail !!
A mum of 3 grown up kids ( eek), 20 years on the beautiful island of 🇧🇭 Bahrain, married to a Bahraini, and immersed in Bahraini family & culture I was lucky enough to work in international schools & nurseries teaching creative music & dance, putting on shows, running choirs & meeting wonderful friends for life , this is where Musical babies was born, after being gifted the framework by another dear teacher ..Relocated to the uk in 2014, and founded Musicella .. and the rest is history .. classes, parties, choirs, working across intergenerations, a creative ballet class centred around story & imagination .. music projects for Ks1 & so much more ! It's been a ride & I've loved every minute of it .. & the best part getting to know all of my families, building relationships, trust & friendships!
I feel so thankful I can do this and call it work !!

My family classes are as they say on the tin, perfect for all the family.. siblings welcomed and siblings discount available..
More appropriate for babies from 6-7 months and upwards, to pre school age .
A class action packed with musical activities to stimulate, engage & enjoy, with props, puppets, scarves, Lycra, parachute, bubbles & the end of class percussion jam ( a firm favourite ! ) All accompanied by my guitar, ukulele, keyboard & a variety of percussion..
Baby Musicella launched last September and due to popular demand I now run twice weekly, Wednesdays & Fridays .
This class is perfect for little ones from around 6 weeks..
If you're looking for Mama support, chill, and bonding through songs & music then this is the class for you ... oh and did I mention I throw in a cuppa and a biscuit 🍪!??Always goes down well !
Block bookings are encouraged, to give your little one, safety, continuity, familiarity and to grow their social skills as they become secure within the group.
Friendships are formed alongside parents, grandparents & childcare providers ...
we have a wonderful, welcoming Musicella community and cannot wait to welcome new families along ....

As part of celebrating Lily’s 2nd birthday, we’re raising money for AngelmanUK, the charity supporting families living with Angelman Syndrome — a condition caused by a change on chromosome 15.

To honour Lily’s birthday and her journey, our donation tiers are symbolic:

£2.15 — Lily is turning 2, and Angelman Syndrome affects chromosome 15

£21.50 — a mid‑range option carrying the same meaning

£215 — for anyone able to make a bigger impact

And as part of our celebrations, our wonderful friend Sami Scholey will be running the Great North Run in Lily’s honour, helping us raise even more awareness and support for AngelmanUK.

This past year, between Lily turning 1 and 2, was the year we received her diagnosis. It was a year of learning, adjusting, and finding our way — and AngelmanUK became one of the places we turned to for support.

AngelmanUK provides:

Family support and guidance for newly diagnosed children

Specialist information for parents, carers, and professionals

Community events that help families feel less alone

Funding for research into treatments and improved quality of life

"Just singing along with my babies ...."
What a joy this class has been ! I won't lie, I was really nervous about setting up a "baby class" , and there's never a moment to sit still with their constant changing !!! We've grown together since last Autumn and I can't thank all the Mama's & Daddy's for all their support ...
Baby class ( non walkers .. )will resume again in September and can't wait to make music with more families and can't wait for my wobbly walkers to join our mixed ages crew !!....

Ahhhhhhh this was so hard today .... goodbyes are never easy ... but these two are a little bit special ... not only have they been coming to Musicella for a long time, but every time they come they are full of smiles & enthusiasm.... I will miss them hugely ... a big shout out to their fabulous child minder Sara Moscrop for bringing them to so many of my classes & managing to balance them both on her knee !!! I hope they carry on making music for a very long time ......not sure I can cope with anymore goodbyes ....

This little one has just started crawling and seeing the delight on his face was just magic ....

A lovely little song that was sent to me by my fellow music friends ... thank you ... ( love how we can share songs together .., ) it was inspired from .for.littles & although I've slightly changed it up ..
I made these little octopuses from rings & ribbons & I have to say the children really enjoyed them ... lovely & sensory & adding singing & dancing to the music was really fun ! Sure the adults enjoyed just as much .. I did !!
