Once again we ask you to join us if you can in raising funds to support those in need not just in Palestine but also Lebanon, Sudan and Yemen. All proceeds from tickets will go to the Al Khair Foundation who work to help those affected by the ongoing genocide and other conflicts and repression.

Huge thanks to all the artists, DJs and organisers for putting together a full day for people to come and join together this Saturday! Special thanks to nat halaseh, Joe, Radio alHara راديو الحارة, and for putting this all together.

It is tempting to write a great deal about our disgust and horror at the unfolding events in Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, Yemen and many other countries. We instead will simply say please support this cause in any way possible, come through, enjoy the venue and the acts, and most importantly donate what you can afford!

Can’t wait for this one! Two brilliant artists in 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒂 and madelyn byrd with DJs from their label .press - not long to wait now! 25th June to be exact!

Slowfoam, aka Madelyn Byrd, is a sound artist, performer, DJ, and educator exploring sonic-somatics and the ecopoetics of home and transformation. Slowfoam embodies an innate sensitivity to texture and somatic response, alchemising field recording, found hums and drones, electroacoustics, voice, guitar, and sound design into genreless whirls.

Slowfoam’s debut album Transcorporeal Portal was released with Somewhere Press in 2024, and included in Bandcamp’s best of Ambient. Their sophomore album, Night Rider, follows later this year, revisiting a teenhood in the Sonoran Desert through Wild West fantasy. Night Rider weaves the synaesthesia of memory and streams of (un)conscious meanderings with a buzzing palimpsest of the American Southwest.

Yet another starlet borne of Naarm’s prodigious nexus, Sina emerges from the trip-hop murk of Dregs’ widely adored, eponymous ’23 entry. Her recent single, Olympus, for Somewhere Press, is the first sign of bigger things on the horizon. It blooms from reverbed guitar, synth pads and longing vocals with a sense of strung-out, romantic pathos and sensuality that colours much of the best work from the city at the far end of the world.

The Lubber Fiend is proud to present its “Meagre Offerings”. A free, social event for the avant-postured, those whom exist recoiled and hunched in their opposition to mundanity, or possibly in awe of its simplicity. A small showcase of experimental musicians will take to the abattoir floor in an intimate candlelit setting beneath a series of carefully curated projections. The spirit of the evening walks the line between speakeasy and basement clangour, almost secret but open to all. Those that are wanting to try something new should be aware that performances will be followed by an open floor group improvisation where anyone in attendance is permitted to join.

Khayyam Dream

Khayyam Dream is an absurdist theatrical fantasia by vocalist-performer Milana Sarukhanyan and saxophonist Harvey Parkin-Christie, inspired by the poetry of Omar Khayyam. Set inside an imaginary Tavern where wine becomes wisdom and nonsense reveals truth, the performance unfolds around Birth, a sculptural installation created by Milana.
Blending free improvisation, hypnotic movement, and surreal storytelling, Khayyam Dream invites audiences into a fever dream of poetic chaos, ecstatic imagination, and the absurd.

Teasel

TEASEL is the duo of Gwilly Edmondez and John Garner. They take an approach to song that sees itself on the morning of unbridled character, leaving the band where it was, and picking up the pieces of your life chewy, chunky, chased and cherished. Challenging choices channel brains worst. Yet riveting, coming in on bass and going out on drums. Teasel snags at the fabric with hooky multiple organisms arranged in 7s.

Elsmer

Elsmer is a drone/noise improv project by James Clay (Sensible Prices, SCUM) intended for small/cramped/unlikely-made-likely spaces of introspective reflection.

The incredible and mysterious Ak’Chamel join us this September!

If Sun City Girls had the same L*D intake as Bu****le Surfers then you might get something approaching Ak’Chamel.

A surreal mosaic of eerie chant processionals, tape-rot trickery, panicked oud madness and more. These are sonic forgeries of atavistic heritages, recorded by analog means using esoteric techniques.

Few bands are as inscrutable as the mysterious Texas duo Ak’chamel. The pair are known for their countless cassettes, films, and full-length records (such as the publicly and critically acclaimed ‘The Totemist’), as well as for performing their ritualistic sounds in homespun costumes with self-made instruments.

Ak’chamel has built a solid reputation as a compelling stage project. Wearing nightmarish costumes and engaging in hallucinatory “rituals”, their singular sound comprising desert-scorched psychedelia, post-apocalyptic shamanism, and lo-fi ritual-folk is as unique as the physical theater of their live performances.
