I'm delighted to announce the open call for the South Tyneside Summer Exhibition! I'm going to be running a six-week art exhibition at The Customs House, which is free to enter. More info below:

⌛ Submission deadline: 31st July 2025 23:59PM
📅 Exhibition date: Week of 18th August (TBC)
📍Venue: The Customs House Gallery

The exhibition is open to anyone over the age of 18 who has participated in any of my weekly classes from 1st January 2025 – 31st July 2025.

You can submit up to 2 wall-based artworks with a maximum size of 1x1m.

Our wonderful friends at More than Grandparents independent charity 1173253 are hosting a fundraising ball to raise awareness for kinship families. Join them and support their incredible work!

We are super excited to announce that we are holding a Family Fundraising Ball. So get glammed up and join us in raising awareness of Kinship families and fundraising for the More than grandparents Charity !

Your ticket price includes a pizza and pasta buffet, crafts, disco, entertainment and parking.

Durham Miners' Gala

'Durham Miners’ Gala captures a moment within this year’s historic gala as the crowd parades the banners. Caught within the crowd, we can see a sea of heads spans out into the distance and throughout the city. Having run annually since 1871, the Durham Miners’ Gala is an important reminder of our social history and the fight of the unions. This painting showcases the importance of what this gala represents and how it has captured the hearts and minds of many. By taking part they are becoming part of this long history and part of a longer history that spans out into the future.'

Vote for your favourite artwork by liking their post. A winning artist will get the chance to have their own exhibition in our gallery space. The winner will be announced through our social media channels on Friday 13th December.

Tonight, we celebrated the launch of the digital exhibition at . We’re so proud of the time and research our volunteers have dedicated to this project, and it’s been a privilege to work alongside them to bring their vision to life. ✨

This multilingual exhibition showcases a thoughtful selection of artworks and objects from the Tyne & Wear Archives and Museums Collections, handpicked by seven lovely volunteers (Fiona, Mike, Yan, Ken, Arezoo, Sofia, and Viktoria), each highlighting themes that are especially meaningful to them.

A big thank you to for having us as part of this journey, and a special shout out to Nicola for bringing us onboard. 💜
