*MEET OUR MAKERS* Hi I’m Jodie and micro-crochet has become a bit of an obsession of mine!
I love to create miniature crochet jewellery with a touch of whimsy. All it takes is my 0.5mm crochet hook, some top stitch sewing thread and plenty of patience to create each piece.
From delicate flowers to quirky little designs, every piece is handmade by me and designed to bring a little joy to whoever wears it.

💚MEET THE MAKER💚

I’m Carole and live in Lincolnshire. I’m married and have 2 wonderful grown-up children that have now left the nest. We’ve got a gorgeous 3 year old granddaughter who we love very much!

My mum taught me to knit when I was in my primary school years and I took to it quite well, making dishcloths, Barbie clothes and jumpers for myself.

I finished working full time from the NHS administrative work in the summer of 2017, so with more time on my hands I decided to sell some of my makes. That is when the Silk Marsh Design was born - it is more of a hobby than a business as I don’t make a living out of it, it’s just a creative pursuit that keeps my mind occupied and an outlet for my designs.

I now design my own knitting patterns for babies and young children which I sell as PDF Downloads from my website. I am delighted to be a part of Serendale where my unique baby knitting designs are available to buy.

Serendale had a visit from Angela on Friday which brightened our day! She brought new stock of her beautiful fused glass suncatchers and lights and other gorgeous makes. Pop down to the shop to see what else she brought us!

Well that blew me away! I was surprised in the shop today by my very best Sewing Buddy Anne from SoPoppins! She’s based near Oxford so we rarely meet in person… but suddenly there she was in the shop today! A few happy tears were shed. 😊 🥹 Thank you for making my day lovely lady! 😘

Meet Jackie – the maker behind Sewjackie

What began as a lockdown hobby making face masks for charity soon grew into Sewjackie, a business creating handmade accessories that are both beautiful and practical. After 24 years teaching A Level Psychology, Jackie took the leap to retire from teaching and work full-time on her businesses.

Jackie designs and makes her signature Twist & Style Your Way headbands, infinity scarves with hidden zipper pockets, reversible hats and other fabric accessories, all available in a wide choice of fabrics. Alongside her handmade range, she has also been commissioned to manufacture the protective cap inserts used inside the world’s first brain scanning helmet, helping to protect the wearer’s scalp during scanning.

When she’s not in the sewing room, Jackie enjoys running and has competed in events up to marathon distance. She also volunteers with her local Citizens Advice, supporting people in her local community.
