A little over 10 months ago a Centurion arrived at the Royal Lancers and Nottinghamshire Yeomanry Museum in Nottinghamshire on a long term loan from The Tank Museum, Bovington.

Since then our amazing team of volunteers, led by Rob Willmer, who kindly supplied the photo, have completely transformed our latest addition in preparation for public display. There's a few more tweaks to carry out but she's as good as done and will have her official unveiling in the late spring.

A testimony to the power of volunteers and good will.

If you wish to follow the restoration process and learn more about the regiments represented by the Centurion, then check out the pages of the Reflection and Remembrance Society Royal Lancers and Nottinghamshire Yeomanry Museum.

Recycling level: Useful! Masking level: Genius!

Rather than waste tons of making stuff to cover wings a couple of flattened toilet roll holders seem to have done the job nicely.

I have clearly excelled today. Time for a lie down.

Today 100 years of Civil Aviation is still available, along with my other titles, from Pen and Sword Books.

"Keep politics out of music!" they cry.

History shows us that music has always been political, folk music especially. Keep music political, no matter how uncomfortable it makes you feel. It's often the only freedom folk have.

A bit of experimenting with lino and foam engraving. Slowly returning to more traditional art forms that I'm comfortable with.

There are also other purposes; to improve my dexterity and concentration. Let the experimentation continue.

Something I thought I'd never post. I've almost finished my first Christmas commission, decorating decorations. The apertures in the centre are for Lindor chocolates!

I think I've found my vocation; decorating decorations!
