A child who is:

⚠ masking all day then exploding at home

…may not need punishment.

They may need:

🌈✨ We’re Looking Forward to Welcoming Our Children Back Tomorrow! ✨🌈

Tomorrow morning, The Coach House will once again be filled with smiles, conversation, creativity, and plenty of colourful monsters as our KS1 Reintegration Group returns.

Using our wonderful Colour Monster resources, children will have the opportunity to explore their feelings, build confidence, develop friendships, and learn practical strategies to help them feel calm, safe, and ready for learning.

💛 Happiness
💙 Sadness
❤️ Anger
💚 Calm
🖤 Fear
💗 Love

Every emotion is welcome, every child is valued, and every small step forward is celebrated.

Our sessions provide a nurturing, child-centred environment where children can:
🌟 Build emotional literacy
🌟 Develop self-regulation skills
🌟 Increase confidence and resilience
🌟 Strengthen social skills and friendships
🌟 Prepare for successful reintegration into school

We can’t wait to see our little Emotion Explorers tomorrow and hear all about their week.

SEND reform should not just be about changing systems. It should be about making life better for children and families.

At Take Part Wellbeing CIC, we believe parents need:
❤️ support that feels human
❤️ schools that understand neurodiversity
❤️ earlier help before crisis point
❤️ joined-up services that actually communicate
❤️ safe spaces where children feel they belong

We are working with schools, families and communities to build:
✔ emotionally safe environments
✔ inclusive practice
✔ targeted SEMH support
✔ family-centred approaches
✔ stronger relationships between home and school

Every child deserves to feel seen, understood and supported, not pushed to fit a system that was never designed for them.

As both an adoptive parent and someone working in family wellbeing and trauma-informed support, I’ve seen first-hand how complex the journey can be for adopted children and their families.

Many adoptive parents are navigating:

❤️ trauma and emotional regulation needs
🖤 school and SEND challenges
❤️ isolation and burnout
🖤 attachment and relationship difficulties
❤️ systems that can feel overwhelming or difficult to access

At Take Part Wellbeing CIC, we’re beginning to explore the development of a supportive, trauma-informed space for adoptive families - focused on connection, understanding, wellbeing, and early support.

Alongside my professional experience, I have also completed adoption training through my own journey as an adoptive parent, which has given me a deeper understanding of both the challenges and the strengths within adoptive family life.

We’re currently researching:

❤️ what support adoptive families feel is missing
🖤 what would genuinely help parents and children locally
❤️ how community-based wellbeing support could complement existing services

If you are an adoptive parent, professional, school, or support organisation and would be interested in contributing ideas, experiences, or future collaboration, I’d love to connect.

Proud moment. 🌟

I’ve now completed all four modules of my Level 7 Senior Leadership Apprenticeship in Educational Leadership and I’m now progressing onto the End Point Assessment (EPA).

As an educationalist and education leader with over 30 years of experience working across mainstream schools, colleges, alternative provision, family support and wellbeing services, this journey has been incredibly meaningful to me, both professionally and personally.

The programme has strengthened my knowledge and understanding of:
✔️ Strategic Leadership
✔️ Educational Transformation
✔️ Systems Thinking
✔️ Workforce Development
✔️ Governance & Sustainability
✔️ Leading People & Organisational Culture

Most importantly, it has allowed me to directly apply learning into the work we do through Take Part Wellbeing CIC — supporting children, families, schools and communities through inclusive wellbeing and education services.

This Level 7 apprenticeship is academically equivalent to Master’s level study and has challenged me to think critically, strategically and systemically about educational leadership and long-term impact.

A huge thank you to Derbyshire County Council for funding and supporting this opportunity for professional development. Access to high-quality leadership pathways for professionals working within education and wellbeing really does make a difference.

Balancing leadership, frontline practice, study and family life hasn’t always been easy, but I’m incredibly proud to have reached this stage.

Now onto the EPA. 🎯

What does “Take Part” really mean?

Over time, we’ve realised it means far more than the name of our organisation.

It is an invitation.

An invitation for families, schools and professionals to take part in something healthier than blame, silence or conflict.

To take part in:

* honest conversations
* compassionate relationships
* reflective practice
* shared understanding
* and emotionally safe support around children.

At Take Part, we believe families should never feel they have to stay quiet in order to be heard.

We also believe schools should not feel alone, attacked or unsupported while trying to meet increasingly complex needs in incredibly challenging circumstances.

Both families and professionals are carrying huge emotional loads right now.
And children feel the impact when relationships around them become fractured.

That is why our work is always centred on bringing people together, not pulling them apart.

We are not interested in “sides”.
We are interested in connection.
In trust.
In understanding.
In making space for difficult conversations without losing compassion for one another.

To us, “Take Part” means:
❤️ taking part in listening,
🖤 taking part in honesty,
❤️ taking part in relationships,
and taking part in building systems where children and families feel truly seen, not managed.

Because when adults can work together with empathy and respect, children benefit most of all.
