💚 Happy National ZooKeeper Week to our incredible keeper team! 🦎🦉🐐
This week we’re celebrating the amazing people who care for the animals at Reaseheath Mini Zoo, 365 days a year.
Being a zookeeper is so much more than feeding animals. It’s early mornings, late finishes, cleaning habitats, preparing specialist diets, training animals, creating enrichment, monitoring health, maintaining enclosures, supporting conservation and education, and always putting animal welfare first.
Whether they’re one of our full-time keepers or part of our fantastic part-time team, every single member of our keeping staff plays a vital role. Without their passion, dedication and hard work, the zoo simply wouldn’t be able to open its gates each day.
Over the coming week we’ll be introducing some of our full-time keepers, sharing a little more about the animals they care for and what makes them love their job.
To every one of our keepers – thank you. Thank you for the care you give our animals, the knowledge you share with our visitors, and for everything you do behind the scenes that often goes unnoticed. We’re incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated team. 💚
If you’ve ever enjoyed visiting the zoo, learned something new from a keeper, or have a favourite animal, we’d love for you to leave our team a message in the comments below! 👇
