The Nantwich Singers are delighted to be performing at the beautiful and historic church of St Alban’s, Tattenhall on Sunday 28th June, starting at 3pm.

Our light-hearted programme celebrates the rich heritage of folksong and the joys of summer. From the exuberance of Aaron Copland’s "Ching-a-Ring Chaw" to George Gershwin’s sultry "Summertime", the sparkling "Tea for Two" and the much-loved "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", we encompass moods of love, wonder, joy and nostalgia.

There will be an interval with tea and homemade cakes, and a chance to look around the church and surrounding gardens. There is free parking opposite at Tattenhall Park Primary School. Tickets (£12.50 in advance, £14 on the door) are available from www.ticketsource.com/nantwich-singers, from Tattenhall Post Office, and from the church itself.

We would love to see you there - Do join us!

On Sunday 28th June at 3pm we are delighted to be performing at the beautiful and historic church of St Alban’s, Tattenhall CH3 9QE.

Our next concert, on Thursday 2nd July at 12.30pm forms part of the Summer Lunchtime Series at St Mary’s, Nantwich CW5 5RQ. No tickets are required - there will be a retiring collection in aid of the church. St Mary’s has been our home since our founding by Mike Bax in 1970s. It is always a wonder to be in this magnificent medieval building.

Our summer concerts celebrate the rich heritage of folksong and the joy of summer, which is so often infused with more than a hint of melancholy. From the exuberance of Aaron Copland’s Ching-a-Ring Chaw to the shimmering magical yearning of James Macmillan’s The Gallant Weaver; and the lyrical beauty of Sarah Quartel’s How can I keep from singing to George Gershwin’s sultry Summertime, also included are two beautiful pieces especially written for the Nantwich Singers. Ben Parry composed his buoyant, ever-joyful version of Westering Home for the Singers in 2022. And our own resident composer, Alison Hendricken, has created a charmingly fresh arrangement of Robert Burns’s famous poem, A red, red rose, enjoying its première. Also included in the programme are works encompassing moods of love, wonder, joy and nostalgia by Lucy Walker, Eleanor Daley, John Rutter, Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Gordon Lightfoot.

We would love to see you at our summer celebrations. Do join us!

We are so looking forward to this event at St Alban's Church.

ARE YOU A STUDENT ALTO, TENOR OR BASS SINGER?

Last year we launched our choral award for a promising young local tenor or bass singer. As a result of this, Oliver joined us and he was such an asset to the bass section and to the choir as a whole.
As a well-established South Cheshire chamber choir with a reputation for high standards of performance, the Nantwich Singers are keen to encourage young people to develop and extend their choral experience. We are now looking for another alto, tenor or bass aged between 18 and 28, who is in full or part-time education, for our bursary award.
What we offer:
A £500 bursary award for 2026 season, or pro rata.
An exciting and varied programme of choral music ranging from the sixteenth century to the present day.
Weekly term-time rehearsals/training led by our Musical Director Susan Marrs on Tuesday evenings at St Mary's Church, Nantwich.
6 - 7 concerts per year, held in a variety of notable venues around Cheshire and Staffordshire.
Solo opportunities for the right candidate.
We are looking for:
A good alto, tenor or bass voice with some sight-reading skills. Someone with an interest in expanding their choral experience and contributing to a friendly and enthusiastic team of singers.
A commitment to regular term-time rehearsals.
For further information, please contact by email in the first instance - [email protected], before end of January 2026.
