We've been quiet for a while, but today we're proud to announce we released WAVR_'s sensational album "Echoes & Evolution" on all major streaming services!

"Echoes & Evolution is the culmination of around 8 years of songwriting, recording, and performing music. The album features 9 tracks of what might be described as metal, though with influences from a number of different styles and artists.

Channeling a variety of sounds from artists such as Devin Townsend, TesseracT, Gojira, and perhaps more unexpected influences like Kate Bush, and John Williams - Echoes & Evolution is a carefully constructed album that tells the story of my experiences throughout years of pouring my heart in to music."

DOOM IS A GAME ABOUT BEING ZEN AND WE EXPLORE THAT IN THIS HERE VIDEO

I recently watched an hour long seminar with Mick Gordon about how he went about the process of writing the DOOM soundtrack. This inspired me to create his "Doom Instrument" in a digital domain... and basically rip him off. Today we look in to what that entails, and what legal battles we may face in the near future.

The drums weren't exported from Superior Drummer, but some little tricks were used to make them sound bigger and heavier. Hit me up for more information about the settings used during this.

AFTER AN ENDLESS AMOUNT OF TECHNICAL ISSUES, HERE IT IS.

Today we re-mix Echoes & Evolution from the ground up. Microsoft Mike has rejoined me in the studio to help explain some of the processes and workarounds we have available to us and some hints for producing songs using synthesised instruments.

There is also a guest appearance from some 90's legends, just to help bring it to life.

There is a new video on the way with a surprise appearance from one of our 90s favourites on its way. And the youtube channel is still not done due to the 0.0001 mbps connection speed I get in the studio, but we get these challenges in life and we overcome the hurdles

GUTEN TAG FOLKS! THERE'S A YOUTUBE CHANNEL IN THE WORKS.

There's also a new video coming this week, in which we'll cover the new software package I'm working with as well as remixing an old favourite of mine. Microsoft Mike will be rejoining me in the studio to explain how your skill as an engineer is not limited by your equipment, but rather by your ears and dedication. And we'll also touch on the enDLESS TECHNICAL ISSUES... and their associated workarounds.

There will also be an announcement regarding introductory rates for mixing and mastering, and a studio update with pictures of my set up in the very near future. I've just got to glue 24sq/ft of foam to the wall and we're all go.

In the meantime, there's gonna be a lot of coffee and staring at an oversized screen until I've got some more content ready for you all.

NEW SOFTWARE NEW ME.

Just upgraded to Tracktion's amazing new DAW, Waveform. The work flow is incredibly similar to what I'm used to but with so much more. WITH 4 TIMES THE AUX SENDS AND RETURNS, SWEET MOTHER OF GOD.

It's a great piece of kit and it will hopefully streamline my mixes and masters.

What's your favourite album in terms of song writing and recording quality?

Mine is this beast here, Bilo 3.0 by David Maxim Micic. The dynamics and flow are just beautiful, with incredibly realistic programmed instruments and a drum sound that rips half your face off. Beautiful.

TODAY WE LOOK AT A RECENT MIXING SESSION AND HOW THERE ARE NO BOUNDARIES TO MIXING.

The song "Vultures" was written back in 2015 and I'd only done a really rough arrangement of it until I went back in to it last week to try and breathe new life in to it. And today I've been accompanied by my good friend Microsoft Mike who's gonna help me break down my approach to mixing this song.
