Cabasa Carnival Arts

Cabasa Carnival Arts Cabasa is a women-led Carnival arts organisation with a focus on traditional textile craft and powerful storytelling.

We create stunning hand-crafted textiles, Carnival costume, large-scale sculpture, body art, and murals that are deeply meaningful. Cabasa is a carnival arts organisation which brings all people together to create big, bold and beautiful outdoor events that capture the joy of being part of a community. Cabasa uses arts and creativity to enable people to learn new skills, develop high-quality work

they feel proud of, bring communities together and explore diverse community traditions. We want to see a world in which everyone has access to creative opportunities through Carnival. Based in Tameside (UK), Cabasa has been delivering high-quality Carnival creations in the North-West and beyond for the past 10 years.

Nearly there with the mural! We’re looking forward to the community paint day tomorrow (Saturday 5th September) 11am - 3pm, come say hello and put some paint on the wall 🎨

We’ve been working again with the fabulous Rhian Kempadoo-Millar for a special piece commissioned by and its market. Well done to our fantastic team, we’ve had all the weather 💪

The design has been co-produced with the help of market traders and the Pockets Snooker Club. It will bring the market to life through depictions of generations of traders, the products sold, architecture and atmosphere, blending in the wider landscape of Winsford, including the River Weaver, Winsford Flashes, marina and surrounding nature.
