I realise you’re probably fed up of me popping up in your feed but I just couldn’t wait any longer for this announcement, sorry 😬😊

I’d just like to introduce the latest local maker to be joining the ranks at Frit and Flux. Gavin, from Etched & Crafted, in Johnshaven is now showcasing his stunning engraved slate work with us.
Offering a selection of coasters and wall panels in various designs, mostly with a very Scottish flavour, they really need to be seen in person to appreciate the quality. My photos don’t do them justice.
He also offers pet portraits, memorial pieces and custom work.

Speaking of a Scottish flavour………I almost forgot to mention his handmade shortbread. OMG, the shortbread!!! 😳 This is THE nicest I’ve tasted in a long time and trust me, I have very discerning tastes when it comes to shortbread 😂
At the moment, I only have Original and Choc chip in stock but there are more flavours to come (where’s my Gin & Lemon Gavin?? 😋) Please come in and try some and save me from my expanding waistline. I have no self control………..🤦‍♀️

I’m delighted to announce that Magic glass by Magdalena is now stocking the shop with her beautiful stained glass creations.
Magda’s work is stunning and varied and many of you may recognise it from local craft fairs. She will happily take on commission work and I’m pretty sure if you can imagine it, she can create it 😍

Magda will also be offering stained glass classes in the workshop with dates commencing in July so keep an eye on the events page.

See her work now in a number of the window displays and also lots more inside the shop.

As promised…….a little introduction for new followers, those who haven’t yet visited and those who don’t even know where to find me 😂

So, some photos of the shop, inside and out as well as a rare (and reluctant 😬) mugshot of me! I’m Cindy, the face behind Molten Elements and the owner of Frit and Flux.

The shop is located at 17 Murray St, Montrose, next door to the Hardware Store for those that know the area.

Inside you’ll find a treasure trove of unique gifts and artwork all handcrafted and all made by Scottish artists and makers.
There are two exciting new additions who I’ll introduce properly in separate posts and at the same time remind everyone of all the other talented people you’ll find here, many of whom have been here since the shop opened………I’m so grateful to them all for their continued support and the beautiful products they provide 🥰

The shop incorporates my own working studio and all the fused glass for sale is produced onsite by little old me ☺️
There is also a workshop space where I teach fused glass and offer the space for hire to other artists/makers to host their classes. Stained glass classes will be coming in July and meantime, checkout the art workshops on offer on the events page from Dariusz Works.

That’s about it folks, Frit and Flux in summary 😂
Do come visit. You don’t need to be buying (although it’s always nice when you do 😉), just come in and say Hi, find out more, see what I’m working on or just browse for future reference.

📣📣 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 📣📣

As of today, Di is no longer a part of Frit and Flux.
I am still off after a small op so for the next couple of weeks the shop may be operating on reduced hours whilst I get it reorganised and certainly until I get my stitches out.

If you intend to visit, it’s probably worth phoning first to check that I am open. I hope you’ll bear with me whilst I go through this transition and get back to full stock capacity. There will be some exciting new stained glass work coming in soon from a local artist too.

I’d like to wish Di all the very best with her move back down south and with her future endeavours.
