We are so delighted to be participating again at Monty Lit Fest

This year as well as the exhibition at The Institute, we will be exhibiting at The Old Bell Gallery where there will be a collaborative art activity running- so please drop in and join in the fun!
On top of that this year there will be two family art workshops for adults and children at the activity centre, on the Saturday afternoon, and a quieter more contemplative one on the Sunday afternoon , downstairs at the Institute.
All workshops must be booked in advance as there are limited places.

Watch this space for details, or we can send the links to you direct if you want to get ahead!

We are so pleased to be able to offer more to the community this year and hope those of you from near and far will enjoy our offerings!

Celf Trefaldwyn welcomes our next exhibitor Julian Allen. He says, “retirement with a to-do list containing astronomy and photography, a move to Montgomeryshire almost eight years ago - one of the last remaining dark sky areas in the whole of western Europe - and encouragement from a friend who shared these interests all combined to make me start doing astrophotography.

It is alleged to be the most challenging form of photography and the learning curves on both imaging and processing are vertiginous; just what one needs to keep an enquiring mind active. Taking multiple images of the same object over many nights gives you hours to look at the night sky in awe and wonder and wish that the clouds would stay away.

Creating the final photograph can take as long as taking all the images and even then there is always the desire to create a better image. The beauty of many of the objects in the night sky is breathtaking and the science behind them is fascinating; for me it is a wonderful combination of art and science. Understanding how they come about contributes to the realisation that we are all made of stardust.”

Discover the Art of Nature with Jennie Ashmore.

Join us at Celf Trefaldwyn the weekend of 6-8 June, where artist Jennie Ashmore will be exhibiting her stunning botanical works.

A graduate of painting and printmaking from Exeter College of Art, Jennie brings years of experience in art, environmental education, conservation, and gardening to her unique creative practice.

Her work is a celebration of the natural world. Using delicately pressed flowers and leaves collected from gardens and wild landscapes, Jennie creates vibrant, intricate compositions that invite viewers to see the beauty in every petal and leaf.
Don't miss this chance to experience her nature-inspired artistry in person.
