For this weeks we have decided to share a track by the band Spring. Many of you will know just how big a part of the Rockfield world they are. They came from Leicester and having met Kingsley completely by accident one evening in Monmouth in the late 60s, they never left! Pat Moran lived with Kingsley's family well into the late 70s before buying a property locally, Ray Martinez lived in Monmouth until his retirement to Spain a few years ago. Pick Withers also lived in Monmouth for many years, running a favourite coffee shop in Church Street whilst also working with many bands including as drummer for Dire Straits. Pat became not only one of Rockfield's engineers but had a very successful career as a record producer. Lisa and Amanda's very first gig was seeing Spring performing at what is now The Savoy in Monmouth. The links and memories go on and on..... a number of you have suggested that one of their tracks has to be included and so this week's choice is 'Shipwrecked Soldier' from their self titled album 'Spring', produced by another Rockfield friend Gus Dudgeon, recorded both here in the Coach House Studio as well as in Trident Studios in London. Released in 1971, the front cover of the album features Martin, a good friend of the band, and the photo was taken down at Tregate Bridge! Very happy memories of a fantastic time in Rockfield's life, both professionally and personally. Have a fab weekend everyone!

As part of which I appreciate is a day late given it's a tuesday, we wanted to share a track by another favourite artist, Aldous Harding. 'One Stop' off her album 'Train on the Island' recorded here and released earlier this year. Ok, ok, so it's a track released a few months ago so not exactly a new release, and we are sharing it a day late however, you get the picture.....

A new release by one of our favs and we love it! He never fails to make us smile and put a spring in our steps as we go about our day here at Rockfield. For those of you who don't yet know him, check him out, you won't be disappointed! This new single has been released off his soon to be released new album, recorded here with the wonderful Dave Eringa at the helm in The Quadrangle Studio.

In the second of our posts in honour of our 65th anniversary, we are sharing Ann's favourite track. To be honest, it's appeared on all of our lists but we feel that Ann deserves it as her choice. As all of you who know us well, Ann is the power behind the throne and the lynch pin that keeps us and the studios going! Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy this fabulous track....

All of you who know us well know that we love Oasis here at Rockfield. They're a big part of our history and have always been good to us. Their gig in Cardiff last year was great, not least in that Kingsley, Ann, Lisa and Amanda all went together, just the four of them, in 1 car no less, nobody else with them and, miraculously, did not fall out once! Not even a bicker between them which, honestly, is nothing short of a miracle... forget the Gallaghers, the Wards have their moments too! We're looking forward to seeing this and, we have to say, how good does the Coach House Studio sound in the trailer?!

As part of the ongoing 65th anniversary, we have all chosen our favourite songs recorded here over the years. The first choice has to be one of Kingsley's and he's chosen 'Ray of Sunshine' by The Interns from Newport. Recorded in 1967 and produced by both Kingsley and Charles, it was released on Parlophone Records and was Rockfield's very first release by an artist signed to a major record label. Recorded in the second studio built here, a converted potato loft above what is now The Coach House Studio which didn't open until 1968

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Another fantastic few days with students from the Gus Dudgeon Music Foundation in the Coach House Studio. Extra special this year as they were working on Gus Dudgeon's actual MCI console! Gus was a good friend of ours at Rockfield and even advised Kingsley and Charles when they originally built what is now The Coach House Studio back in 1968. We feel that his MCI is in its rightful home. We all had a great time last week and wish the students all the very best for their future careers.....
