We'd like to say a huge thank you to everybody involved in putting on the Monmouth Medieval Festival again this year. Without the team of volunteers managing trader bookings, living history and reenactment groups, volunteer stewards over the weekend and much more then the event simply couldn't happen. It's not possible to mention everybody here, but we'll do our best... Thanks to Forest Adventure Ltd. for kindly loaning their marquee (again) for the event, to the The Freemen of Gwent, The Free Company of Aquitaine and Angevins 12th Century Live, Ben Long Falconry and Tom Livingstone, expert heritage mason, for creating and curating the living history encampment. Thanks to all of our lovely traders at the event Newport Medieval Ship Project, Helen Ackerman, Blacksmith, Church Street Gifts Serenspere Austringer Cider Terrys wild boar burgers Mobile Pizza The Magpie Nest UK Hearts & Dragonflies - Chainmaille Jewellery, All barred up mobile bars. Thanks to Marianne Piper and Mike David James with all of the lovely Volunteering for Wellbeing volunteers who gave up their time on both days to guide and steward. Huge thanks to Will Davies of Cadw for once again giving up his time to provide his ever-popular tour and talk at Monmouth castle and to the volunteer guides at the Monnow Bridge and gatehouse. Thanks to Monmouthshire county council for once again permitting use of Vauxhall Fields for the event, and to the officers and councillors of Monmouth Town Council for support and a great deal of behind the scenes work in bringing the event to fruition.
