And last, but certainly not least, we have Selsdon Mowbray – the veteran actor who insists he's perfectly capable of remembering his lines... if only someone could remember where he left the whisky first!

Playing the burglar in Nothing On, Selsdon is a seasoned performer with decades of experience and just as many excuses. Forever napping backstage, mysteriously disappearing before entrances and appearing at exactly the wrong moment, he's delightfully unpredictable. Beneath the confusion and comic chaos, however, lies a true old-school actor who simply loves being on stage – even if everyone else is desperately trying to keep him there!

Bringing Selsdon to life is Kevin Taws, who has appeared in over eighty productions, many at this theatre. Among his favourite roles are Inspector Goole in An Inspector Calls and Albert Parker in When We Are Married. This marks Kevin's third appearance with Suitcase Theatre, following By the Waters of Denbigh in 2011 and The Winter's Tale in 2025. And while Kevin would like everyone to know that he isn't actually deaf, he admits there are rather more similarities between himself and Selsdon than he'd care to confess...

Come and see whether Kevin can keep Selsdon on stage long enough to steal the show – and perhaps the odd bottle of whisky too!

Meet Tim Allgood!

If there’s one person desperately trying to hold this chaotic production together, it’s Tim… although whether he’s succeeding is another matter entirely!

As the overworked Stage Manager and understudy, Tim is permanently armed with a headset, a clipboard, and an ever-growing sense of panic. He’s the first to arrive, the last to leave, and spends most of his time extinguishing theatrical fires—often while creating a few more himself! With actors forgetting lines, props going missing and tempers flaring backstage, Tim’s patience is tested to breaking point as he races to keep the show on the road.

Enthusiastic but hopelessly out of his depth, Tim discovers that in theatre, the real drama doesn’t always happen on stage!

Tim is played by Nigel Skinner, who first discovered his love of the stage through musical theatre, appearing in productions of Anything Goes (Theatre Clwyd), Calendar Girls (The Brindley), Ghost (Chester Storyhouse), The Wedding Singer (The Grange) and The Producers (The Hammond). He has also performed in professional opera productions of Carmen, La Traviata and Madama Butterfly at the Liverpool Empire.

Nigel made his Suitcase Theatre debut in the popular 2025 one-act play Carnforth, followed by a memorable cameo in Medea. Most recently, he delighted audiences in Denbigh Phoenix’s hilarious production of Murder with Ghosts.

He has had enormous fun bringing the wonderfully overstretched and delightfully frantic Tim Allgood to life and has loved working alongside such a talented and supportive cast.

Away from the stage, Nigel runs a busy psychotherapy practice and lives in Flintshire. When he’s not working or performing, he enjoys singing with the Trelawnyd Male Voice Choir and NEW-Voices mixed vocal ensemble.

Will he somehow steer this disastrous company to opening night… or will the whole production collapse into glorious chaos?

Come and find out in Michael Frayn’s brilliantly funny Noises Off—where everything that can go wrong absolutely does!
