Hey everybody!
I do apologise for the length of time it's taken for this thankyou message to find it's way to your news feed but since I woke up a little foggy of head on Thursday morning, I've either been working or eating or sleeping! Nevermind though, here I am!!
Firstly I want to thank every single one of my team of musical artists for their willing and great genius talent that really made Wednesday night something special.
Secondly I want to apologise to every single one of my team of musical artists for the fact that even though, with all sincerity, I'd love to have heard you all play for an hour each, I'd gotten a little overzealous and booked about 60 of you to play in one evening! It's only my second try at this and it's a very steep learning curve, in future I've decided I'm having a maximum of three acts; two of whom playing for 45 minutes then the last for an hour or so. That ought to do it!!
I thought to myself on no fewer than five occasions that this artist in front of me is just really getting into it after three tunes, killing it with the vocal and getting a fantastic audience reaction but.. I've got to put the next act on!! Lesson learned, though still, what a wonderful patchwork quilt of talent :D
Thirdly I apologise again for the sound difficulties, we ironed them out eventually but you have the play the hand you're dealt and the resident wine bar PA is a grouchy old bastard at the best of times!
Fourthly and lastly but never leastly, I want to thank everybody who turned up to see it! I'm not sure I have ever in my days seen the Wine Bar that busy!! Especially on a Wednesday!! Great crowd too, really appreciative. Included in this is the thanks to my corking girlfriend Rebecca for the Strawberry Jam Cakes and flyers that you will have seen round and about on the night. If you weren't lukcy enough to get a cake this time, then you'll just have to come next time won't you :)
To summarise then; really fantastically successful night, every musical artist blew my socks off, however there were too many to squeeze into one night (probably in all about three Jams-worth of artists if honest!!), lessons learned for the future, massive thanks to everybody for making it out on a Wednesday night, next Strawberry Jam is on the last Wednesday of September, which is the... 26th!!
