Soundwave returns this Saturday for we're sure will be another fantastic session! There are still spaces available, so why not come and make some noise with us at the Studio Theatre in Moffat?

All sessions are Pay What You Can (down to £0). There is no requirement to play any instruments or have any musical knowledge. All we need your enthusiasm to get involved!

This Sunday at Studio Moffat — you can just drop in and try instruments 🎸

From 2–3pm we’re launching the new Soundwave Instrument Library — it’s completely free and open to all ages.

You can:

try out instruments
meet tutors
find out how borrowing works

Then from 3pm, we’ve got live music from
Jeff Brown Overdrive, RHELM and YOU problem!

Spring Cut 26 is happening this Sunday at Studio Moffat 🎸

We’re bringing together a brilliant line-up of young local bands — Jeff Brown Overdrive, RHELM and YOU problem! — for an afternoon of live music.

Before the gig, we’re also launching the Soundwave Instrument Library (2–3pm) — a free, drop-in session where you can:

- try out instruments
- meet tutors
- sign up to borrow

Then from 3pm, the music starts.

fusing art rock, punk and riot grrl, with some new wave and psychedelic influences, our aim is to shout with the people who don’t get their voices heard. we want to ROBIN HOOD the existing power systems

we’re loud and outspoken, and we want to make a space for the people who get drowned out in “normal” society. have you ever felt like you’re too weird to be a part of live music? well so do we, so come watch! also, we’re clowns :)”

SPOTLIGHT ON…

Next up on our lineup for Spring Cut 26 is… RHELM!

“Hi, we are RHELM, a young indie rock band from Castle Douglas. We formed when we were just thirteen and since then have been trying to find our big break. Over the past few years we have played at numerous festivals and events, including Knockengorroch Festival, Music At the Multiverse, Moniaive Festival, Midsummer Music Festival, The Vault, and the Youthbeatz mainstage.

RHELM consists of Megan on vocals, Eilidh and Lucy on guitar, and Harrison on drums. We initially worked on creating upbeat covers and have progressed to writing and recording our own energetic original material. We recorded our first single at Circa16 professional recording studios through Catstrand Creatives and the Stranded Cat Recording label. This has been such a great experience for us as all our members are still at school and we find focusing on this much more exciting than exams.

We love to prove that kids from smaller, more rural areas can make music too, not just solo artists and bands from cities. Our first single “Sleep" and our second single “Imposter Syndome”, recorded through the Geez A Choon program at Up Yer Airts, are both available to stream and download now on all major platforms.

SPOTLIGHT ON…

Announcing our first band of Spring Cut 26: @‌jeffbrownoverdrive!

“We formed our band a few months ago with a shared aim of covering some songs we all enjoy learning and performing. As we've started to write, our sound leans towards the emotional depth and alternative edge of Radiohead, especially the era of The Bends. We are also inspired by the intensity and dirt of The Smashing Pumpkins, as well as the raw, modern energy of Geese/Fontaines DC/Wunderhorse/Mk.gee, AC/DC and Pearl Jam.

After a small first gig at a friend's party, we were offered more by our school, performing at a Christmas concert and church service. We needed a name, so decided we would call ourselves after the main man at Moffat - Jeff Brown.

We are all honoured to be performing at the opening of Soundwave's Instrument Library and hope to see you all there too!”

CALLING ALL MUSIC LOVERS...

Get ready for Spring Cut 26!

On March 29th, we're launching our Soundwave Instrument Library. From 2pm, you'll be able to see what's on offer, try out our instruments and book them out on the day - for FREE!

At 3pm, we'll be celebrating our launch with an open mic, followed by a showcase of some great young bands in the area. Get ready to see , .official and in their element.

Need a bit more info about our Instrument Library?

Fear not! We’re here to give you the rundown of what to expect from the Soundwave Instrument Library Launch…

- Have you always wanted to try guitar but never had the money?
- Or maybe you’re interested in learning drums but don’t have the space for a full kit?
- Do you already know how to play one instrument but want to experiment with a new one - without committing to buying just yet?

If this sounds like you, the Soundwave Instrument Library has the solution! An Instrument Library gives members of the local community the chance to sign-up and borrow instruments FOR FREE!

On March 29th at 2pm, we’ll be hosting our Instrument Library launch - giving you the opportunity to turn up, see what’s on offer and take away instruments on the day.
