What a day! It rained (a lot) but so many lovely people braved the weather to visit our Summer Fair - Thank you 🙏 Thank you also to the fabulous stall holders and hall volunteers who, quite literally, made our day 👏👏 That's the hall put to bed until the next event and now the sun is shining in our beautiful valley 🙄😅

The valley bakers have been busy and we have a delicious selection of sweet treats ready for the hall sales table or to enjoy with your coffee this afternoon 1-4pm (this is just a small sample 😃).

Professor Ronnie Cann 1954 - 2026
Ronnie was a much loved member of the Moffat Water Valley community. Alongside his academic career at The University of Edinburgh he was a passionate gardener. He regularly opened his garden at Waterside to visitors through the Scotland's Gardens Scheme with the proceeds going to charities including the Moffat Water Hall. He supported our events and for a time was part of the hall committee. In recent years Ronnie was losing his sight as a result of a genetic condition. In his memory our chosen charity partner for our summer Fair 2026 is the Royal National Institute of Blind people. There will he a raffle in aid of RNIB at our Summer Fair on Saturday 9 August 1-4pm with a fabulous range of prizes donated by valley residents and stall holders. Ronnie's sister Jean is a volunteer support group facilitator with RNIB and also our amazing hall committee treasurer.

To keep your energy levels up there will be fresh homestyle Indian food from The Spice Heritage as well as coffees, teas, cold drinks, scones and cakes from the Moffat Water Valley bakers.

Outside there will be fun activities for all the family alongside the Moffat Water Hall preloved goods and plant stall. There's a rumour that Peter and friends are popping up along to provide some musical entertainment too 🎶
