Lovely session teaching the Girl Guides lino printing last night. They had a great time and made some fab cards for Mother’s Day. Brilliant results given each group only had an hour! 💙💐

Absolutely blown away by the standard of work at this afternoon’s Introducing Colour - Jigsaw Linocuts workshop. We played with gradients and I got a real buzz from seeing the different designs my students created! Well done everyone! 🤩👏

Such a lovely day today with two back to back workshops! Here are some images from my Introduction to Linocut Printmaking workshop this morning - most of these students were complete beginners who had never tried lino printing before and what amazing results! One lovely lady even had tears in her eyes when she pulled her first print as she hadn’t believed she could do it 👏

Which colour do you like best for this jigsaw linocut?

Printing my jigsaw linocut - that first pull of a new print is definitely one of my favourite parts of the process! For the eagle eyed among you that have been following the earlier reels showing this process - you may notice the house has changed! When I did my test print I decided I wasn’t happy with the house; I wanted to carve the roof differently and add a bit more detail to the house, with a climbing plant. The beauty of this jigsaw technique meant I could carve a whole new house to fit into the existing block, ensuring it was the same size!
