What secrets lie hidden in the ancient moat at Westbury Arts Centre ? With nearly three centuries of history here, an archaeological treasure trove is surely waiting to be discovered.

Tucked to the left of the entrance gate, it’s easily overlooked by passersby, which is such a shame, because its shifting light and foliage make it a fascinating subject on canvas.

It’s been weeks without a proper downpour, but painting these deep, shady spots always gives me a moment of cool respite 🍃

With this piece, I wanted to capture the thick canopy and rich green floor of our local woods. The deep green oil tones bring a bit of shade and calm into the studio when it’s scorching outside.

While we wait for the rain to bring back our lush green countryside, I’ve been looking at this recent landscape painting in my art studio. Painted in oils, it’s my nod to the vibrant, deep green tones that usually define our local spaces.

A little summer update from my studio.

If you came along to see my paintings at The Stables MK earlier this summer - thank you again for visiting, it meant a great deal to me. I'm delighted that several of the pieces have found new homes since then, and I'm grateful to everyone who took one away with them.

A number of the original oil paintings are still available, and I've now put them up on my website so you can browse from home. Each one is an original, painted by hand here in the studio - original landscapes, seascapes and abstracts, each one holding on to the light, colour and mood of the places that inspired them, long after the summer is over.

Two easy ways to make one yours:

• Or come and see the work in person in my Studio at Westbury Arts Centre just send me a message, via the contact form on my website, and we'll arrange a time.
