Our highly engaging Autumn Season starts at The Heron Theatre, Beetham starts on 4th September.

Coming in the next couple of weeks.

Friday 4th September – Film at the Heron ‘H is for Hawk’ with Claire Foy and Brendan Gleeson. After her father’s sudden death, Helen seeks solace by training Mabel, a fierce and untamed goshawk. What begins as an escape from grief becomes a powerful journey of healing and resilience. 7.30pm

Sunday 6th September – Sam Rodwell – award winning guitarist.
Sam has performed at prestigious venues and festivals worldwide, including London’s Wigmore Hall. Don’t miss the chance to experience this exceptional international musician live at the Heron! 2.30pm

Friday 11th September – On Our Way to Lisbon – Drama with Isoceles Theatre
On Our Way to Lisbon, is an uplifting and nostalgic play in which two devoted football fans relive Celtic’s historic 1967 European Cup victory over Inter Milan. Highly engaging and amusing – suitable for everyone, not just football fans. Afterwards, join Pat and Dave for entertaining stories and behind-the-scenes insights from their careers in theatre, radio, film and TV. 7.30pm

The classic drama Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, presented by 'Isosceles Theatre'

An experiment to separate virtue from wickedness in his own nature results in the respectable Doctor Jekyll releasing the demon within; a malevolent force which will eventually possess him body and soul. Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic story has enthralled and fascinated the world for more than a hundred years. Perhaps because a Mr Hyde lurks deep within us all, watching… and waiting…

Frida Kahlo is a phenomenon. She is arguably the world’s favourite female artist – beloved by young and old.

Exhibition on Screen’s award-winning film – first released during COVID to a restricted audience - is back by popular demand with an exciting new addition from the curators of the blockbuster transatlantic exhibition from Tate Modern and MFA Houston ‘Frida Kahlo: the Making of an Icon’.

26–28 June — three days packed with film, family fun, live performance and a celebratory Open Day.

Friday 26 June – 7.30pm
Kick off the celebrations with the much loved classic Amélie — first released in 2001, the very year HRH Princess Alexandra opened the renovated theatre.
Saturday 27 June – 11am & 2pm
Perfect for families: Gabby’s Gulliver’s Travels, a magical shadow puppet adventure that will delight children and grown ups alike.
Saturday 27 June – 7.30pm
Settle in for The Flight of the Heron — an evening of words and music celebrating the theatre’s story, featuring Michael Lunts, Ginny Scott and The Company.
Sunday 28 June
We round off the weekend with a Free Open Day (booking still essential) filled with:

Olivier Award winner Guy Masterson presents Dylan Thomas’ enduring masterpiece – Under Milk Wood: a day in the life of ‘Llareggub’ – a fictional sea-town somewhere in Wales…In an amazing feat of memory and physical virtuosity, Masterson recreates all 69 of Dylan Thomas’ wonderfully ebullient inhabitants entirely on his own!
