Can you help us? We're looking for bamboo plants! 🎍

Our animals LOVE bamboo, whether as a tasty snack or creating an enriching environment within their habitats.

This means we are looking for donations of live bamboo plants.

Ideally, we are looking for black or golden bamboo or the clump forming Fargesia species. However, we understand many people might not be able to identify their bamboo so we are happy to take any bamboo donations as long as they haven't been treated by any pesticides or herbicides.

We are privileged to be the last non-motorway stop as part of the Dave's Day Motorbike ride out again today, raising crucial money for cancer charities.

The zoo is open as usual, with Daves Day bikers using a separate dedicated car park.

Please be aware, if you are visiting the zoo today there will be large numbers of bikes throughout the day leading up to the rideout. So please take care around the car park and listen to the directions of our Marshalls. Timings are subject to change based on the progress of the main ride from London. However, they are estimated to leave here around 2pm.

Our Rangers Club is back again for kids aged 7-11, and is running on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout summer.
🌺 July: 20, 21, 22
🌺 July: 27, 28, 29
🌺 Aug: 3, 4, 5
🌺 Aug: 10, 11, 12
🌺 Aug: 17, 18, 19
🌺 Aug: 24, 25, 26

Each day will have themed activities, fun crafts, feeding, enrichment creation and much more!

Times: 9am - 4pm
Prices: £60 per day, or a 3-day week for £150 (Breakfast, lunch and snacks included)

So let's take a moment to appreciate Neon and Switch, our Northern Lynx boys.

💡 Did you know... Lynx are versatile hunters and eat a variety of animals. They have keen senses, and can move silently helping them take down prey much larger than themselves.
