I would like to thank everyone who has, over the past 5 and a half years attended a music, dance, yoga, boot camp, boxfit, meditation, dementia or chronic pain class, boogied at a party, enjoyed half day seminars, formed music videos, had mini meetings or used the studio for extra practices. You have enabled me to realise a dream that I’ve always had which was to have my own little place for dance and well-being.

There have been ups and downs, Covid, and the general running of the studio but with the community’s help and support Solasta has stayed afloat.

I recently found my very first drawing of what I wanted it to look like and it’s exactly the way it is now, even today as we close this chapter.

This message is to inform you that as of today it will no longer be Solasta Studios (Gaelic for Illuminate).
All classes that currently attend here will continue to do so (under new management).

It has been a privilege to have this studio in an area which I grew up in and I’ll always be grateful.
A new chapter is about to begin for me as I close this amazing dance one of 32 years. 🩰 💓

Are you aged 14 - 24 and looking to start your career in dance?

Scottish Ballet’s Youth Exchange is a one-year dance programme for young dancers based in Scotland and preparing for a dance career. As part of the programme, you will get the opportunity to train with guest choreographers, perform in original dance works and meet young dancers from all over the world. In addition to developing as a dance artist, you'll have the chance to travel and be part of an international exchange with other young dancers too. 🌎

Entry onto the Youth Exchange programme is via audition at our Scottish Ballet HQ. Open Auditions are free and taking place on Tuesday 7 November 2023. The deadline to apply for the open audition is Tuesday 31 October 2023.
